Local athletes well represented at All-Star week

The 53 rd edition of the Arkansas High School Coaches Association All-Star Games will be held this week on the University of Arkansas Campus.

More than 300 of the best graduated prep athletes report today to compete in eight sports. The players are divided into squads representing the East and the West.

Players from Northwest Arkansas invited to compete in the games this week include Gionni Harris and Blake McDonald of Fayettville, Jared Grigg and Bryant Newell of Springdale Har-Ber, Kyle Montgomery of Rogers, Brandon Miller and Caleb Stiles of Farmington, Roger Jackson of Siloam Springs, and Michael Upton of Springdale for football.

Evan Abrecht of Farmington, Chris Esnaur of Siloam Springs, Evan Robinson of Huntsville for boys basketball.

Epiphany Smith of Har-Ber, Kacie Larkan of Siloam Springs and Chelsea Garrison of Shiloh Christian for girls basketball.

Perla Quintina and Emily Sis of Rogers, Jesse Wade of Siloam Springs, and Jordan Waggener of Bentonville for volleyball.

Morgan Keller of Fayetteville, Amber Caywood and Hannah Powers of Elkins, Kelly Helton of Farmington and Tandie Bailey of Bentonville for softball.

Taylor Shaddy of Fayetteville, Zac Hill of Har-Ber and Blake Roberts of Shiloh Christian for Baseball.

Scott Collins of Fayetteville, D. J. Kirn and Matt Marsh of Rogers and A. J. Templeton of Huntsville for boys soccer.

Karen Sosa of Fayetteville, Misti Brown of Siloam Springs, Ashley Fleener of Shiloh Christian, Cory Goodwin of Huntsville, Kristina Harp and Aylvia Rogers of Rogers, Sheila Helms of Bentonville, and Megan Pearce of Har-Ber for girls soccer.

The games began Tuesday with the baseball doubleheader at Baum Stadium at and the girls soccer match and the boys soccer match both at Lady’Back Field.

The softball doubleheader was played Wednesday at Lady’Back Yard and the volleyball matches were played at Barnhill Arena.

The girls and boys basketball games will be played at 6 and 8 p. m., respectively, Thursday at Bud Walton Arena.

The football game will cap the week’s festivities at 7 p. m. Friday at Reynolds Razorback Stadium.

Tickets for each event are $ 5.

The Cosmopolitan Hotel is also host the Arkansas High School Coaches Association Convention this week.
