Springdale

Vester Earl Madewell, 80, of Springdale died Friday, August 8, 2008.

He was born Nov. 23, 1927, in Densmore to Henry and Ruthie Davidson Madewell. He attended Calvary Free Will Baptist Church in Springdale.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Juanita "Tooter"Bowen Madewell; children, Janice "Jan"Watson, Carl Madewell, Bobby Madewell, Jackie Madewell and Byron Madewell, all of Springdale; a brother, F. D. Madewell of Hindsville; three sisters, Lorene Johnson of Huntsville, Donna Sue Freeman of Douglasville, Ga., and Patty Freeman of Lowell; eight grandchildren; and 11 greatgrandchildren.

Arrangements were by Westfield Chapel. A funeral service was held Monday at Calvary Free Will Baptist Church in Springdale with the Revs. Donnie Villines and Dale Kesner officiating. Fayetteville

Ronnie Edward George, 41, of Fayetteville died Friday, Aug. 8, 2008, in Springdale.

He was born Oct. 28, 1966, in Springdale. He was a former employee of FedEx Freight in Lowell.

He is survived by his wife, Shawna Waits George; a daughter, Jhona George of Fayetteville; his mother, Nancy Jan George of Springdale; a brother, Ro bbie Ritchey of Hindsville; three sisters, Rhonda Hittson of Springdale, Letha Cooley of Dardenelle and Dawna Gregg of Shawnee, Okla.; and one grandchild.

Elkins

Auther Columbus Hayes, 73, of Elkins died Monday, Aug. 4, 2008, at the Veterans hospital in Fayetteville.

He was born March 17, 1935, in Larue, Texas, to Franklin Hayes and Allie Floyd Hayes.

He served in the U. S. Army during the Korean conflict and was a farmer. He was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Hayes; two sisters, Lena Gregrey and Ada Acuff; and five brothers, CR Hayes, Lee Roy Hayes, BJ Hayes, Bobbie Joe Hayes and Clarence Hayes. Survivors include his wife, Betty Hayes of the home; two sons, Gary Hayes of Farmington and Mickey Hayes of Farmington; four daughters, Katie Jarred of Goshen, Wanda Brumley of Canehill, Cheryl Voyles of Wichita, Kan., and Robbie Williams of Johnson; three brothers, Robert Hayes of Elkins, Judge Hayes of Fayetteville and James Hayes of Missouri; and 27 grandchildren. A funeral service was held Friday, Aug. 8, 2008, at Cross Roads Community Church with Pastor Rocky Bell officiating. Burial was in Goshen Cemetery under the direction of Beard's Funeral Chapel.
