Pea Ridge fourth-grade makes it 4 and 0, out scoring their opponents 100-0. Saturday the Blackhawks traveled to Farmington for one of the toughest tests yet, prevailing 20-0. The Blackhawk defense once again was stingy, allowing the Cardinals only 58 yards total offense, 48 of which came late in the game when the Cardinals starting line up went around the right end only to be slowed by Landon Rhine and tackled by Spencer Marler to keep the young 'Hawks unscored upon.
Leading the way on defense with seven tackles was Duncan Truesdell, Zaine Holley with four, Cole Wright with three, followed by Marler, Tyler Wallace, Jacob Torres, Easton Lane, Beau German and Michael Schleisman with two tackles each. Wright picked off the Card's first pass and returned it 10 yards, while Easton Lane's fumble recovery late in the game helped seal the deal for the shutout. Biggest hit of the game goes to Seth Trammell behind the line of scrimmage for a five-yard loss for the Cardinals, one of his four tackles. Other players to note on defense were Tanner Flippo, Brandon Johnson, Britton Caudill, Brett Scott, Hunter Gaston, George Tyree, Austin Anderson, Tyler Stewart and Dylan Nelson.
Offensively, the 'Hawks had a 230 yard total, 196 on the ground and 34 by air. Wright started the scoring from 6 yards out behind great blocking by Wyatt Weber, German and Caudill. The second TD of the day came off a play action pass from Wright to Chandler Tidwell good for 34 yards. The second half started with Tidwell going 44 yards off tackle to set up Wright's second touchdown of the day, on the ground from 10 yards out.
Offensive leaders were Tidwell three carries for 56 yards, Schleisman six carries for 49 yards, Wright had six carries for 25 yards and two rush touchdowns, Torres with four carries for 14 yards, Clayton Brown three carries for 10 yards and Truesdell had one carry for the only 2-point conversion.
The 'Hawks again owned the line with great blocking up front by Kamden Boyd, Hunter Shackelford, Jonathan Pinto, German, Brandon Johnson, Tanner Stamps and Jake Henry.
The 'Hawks also enjoyed good down field blocking by Joseph Ortiz, Toby Swift and Jaylee Kelley. Every player's name has been mentioned each week because every player is the reason for our success.
Keep fighting, 'Hawks !
