Pea Ridge National Military Park time change Pea Ridge National Military Park is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Elkhorn Tavern will be open on an irregular basis throughout the fall.
The horse trail remains closed as damage to the trail was much greater than originally estimated and the repair of the trail is moving along slowly. The continued rain throughout the summer has not helped the park in its efforts. The park hopes to have the trail open by fall.
Pea Ridge National Military Park preserves the site of and commemorates the March 1862 Civil War battle that helped Union forces gain control of Missouri. The park is located 10 miles north of Rogers on U. S. Highway 62. Admission is $ 3 per person or $ 5 per carload.
For information, contact the park 451-8122. Can Food Drive Miss Pea Ridge Brianna Madrid will be collecting canned food at the entrance gate at Pea Ridge football home games to help stock the Pea Ridge food pantry. Collection dates are Oct. 9, 17 and Nov. 11.
