RHS softball tryouts Rogers High School will host softball tryouts from 4 p.m. to 6: 30 p.m. Aug. 25, 27 and 28 at Northwest Park. All students who tryout must have a current physical before participating.

Race-day registration and packet pick up starts at 7 a.m. at Little Flock City Park. The 1-mile walk / run starts at 7: 45 a.m. and the 5 K race starts at 8: 15 a.m. A post race brunch will be available for all participants and volunteers.
An awards ceremony will be conducted shortly after the completion of the race. Awards for the 5 K run will be given to the top three overall male and female, top three masters male and female, and top three male and female per age category. Prizes will also be awarded to the top three finishers of the walk.
Cost of the 5 K and 1-mile run / walk is $ 15; students 18 and younger is $ 10. All pre-registered participants are guaranteed a T-shirt. Lost Springs Four-Ball Lost Springs Golf & Athletic Club in Rogers will host its annual Four-Ball Championship on Sept. 13-14.

ALS Charity Golf Classic The ALS Association of Northwest Arkansas will host its third annual Golf Classic presented by Wal-Mart Stores benefiting Lou Gehrig's disease. This year's four-person scramble will be held at the Bella Vista Country Club on Friday, Oct. 3.
There are 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. flights available at $ 400 per four-person team. Each flight will be limited to 30 teams.
Commonly known as Lou Gehrig's disease, ALS is a degenerative, fatal neuromuscular disease that can strike without warning, Kate Kressen, the chapter's executive director said. Every day 15 new cases of ALS are diagnosed in the United States, and 15 people die from the disease. There is no known cause, cure or effective treatment.
The local group is the only chapter of the national ALS Association in the state. It provides services to local patients including a medical equipment loan program, mobility and home adaptation speech and communication evaluations, patient support groups and advocacy and public policy programs.
Sponsorship opportunities range from Presenting Sponsor to a Hole Sponsor for a $ 100 do nation. In kind sponsors are also needed.

Thursday Morning Mixed Bowling League A mixed bowling league with play dates each Thursday morning is being organized for the 2008-09 season. Bowling takes place at the Rogers Bowling Center at 9: 30 a.m. starting the week of Sept. 7.
Openings are available for men, women or couples. This handicap league is not sanctioned by the ABC and is designed for recreation, sociability and fun for adults over the age of 50. Bowlers of all skill levels are invited to attend.
