Library happenings

On Jan. 8, "Cloverfield" (PG-13) will be shown at the Rogers Public Library from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The movie is appropriate for teenagers. On Jan. 29, "The Dark Night" (PG-13) will be shown. Feb. 5 will feature the movie "Star Wars: The Clone Wars" (PG) and on Feb. 12 see "Wall-E" (G).

On Jan. 13 from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., youth can learn the answer to the question, What can you do with a roll of duct tape? The workshop is for ages 11 to 18. Attendees will be making wallets and other creations out of everyone's favorite tool, duct tape. Registration is required. Sign up online or at the library.

Two events happen on the second Saturday of each month. At 11 a.m. Jan. 10, the Young Adult Advisory Council will meet to discuss what's happening and what they would like to happen at the library. Refreshments will be provided. The group, sponsored by the Library Teen Scene, is for grades eighth through 12th.

The Anime Club also meets on the second Saturday of each month, from noon until 2 p.m. Snacks and an episode of an anime program are provided as well a chance to share anime artwork, fanfiction or conversation. This event is for grades eighth through 12th and their guests. Sign up at the library or online.

The Thursday Gaming Night is held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and is now twice a month. Join in every third Thursday night for Nintendo Wii games and more courtesy of The RPL Teen Scene and Game Crazy. These games are for ages 13 to 18 and will be held on Jan. 15, 22, Feb. 19 and 26.

Valentine's Day Glass Etching will be held from 4 p.m. to 5:30 Feb. 10. Etch out a message for someone special in this craft event for ages 11 to 18. Registration required. Sign up online or at the library.

The Rogers Teen Book Group is held at 4:30 p.m. on the first Tuesdays of the month, starting Feb. 3. We'll be discussing Hunger Games by Suzzane Collins. Sign up online or at the library. This event is appropriate for ages 13 to 18.
