Eureka Springs Bluegrass Festival The sixth annual Eureka Springs Bluegrass Festival is set for Aug. 21-24 throughout the town of Eureka Springs. Thursday evening Bluegrass pickers from all over will participate in the annual watermelon extravaganza at the Basin Park in the historic downtown. This event is free to the public. Everyone is encouraged to bring his or her instruments. Friday features great shows downtown in Basin Park and at the Auditorium as well as an open jam at the Rodeway Inn Swiss Holiday Resort after the shows on Friday. Saturday the bluegrass music continues downtown with several concerts throughout the day and evening and the festival concludes on Sunday. Frisco Festival The 24 th annual Frisco Festival will be held Aug. 22-23 in Rogers'Historic District. Area businesses sponsor the biggest party in town including free rides and amusements. Signature events include: The Chilisalsapeno Competition, Kid's Connection, Frisco Chicken BBQ, Frisco Idol, several car shows, nonstop main stage entertainment starting and ending with the Friday and Saturday night street dances. Admission is free. Beaver Lake facility presentation slated An educational session has been scheduled at 6 p.m. Aug. 27 in the Quorum Courtroom in the Benton County Administration Building, 215 E. Central, Bentonville. This education session will cover the operations and management of Beaver Lake. Alan Bland, park ranger, and Sean Harper, operations manager with the U. S. Jack Mitchell band to perform Jack Mitchell and his band will perform at 3 p.m. Sept. 7 at the Arend Arts Center.
