Luther Odell Black Luther Odell Black, 86, of Pea Ridge, Ark., died Wednesday, April 30, 2008, in Pea Ridge. He was born Dec. 13, 1921, in Bradford, Ark., to Lee Black and Erna Rice Black.

He was baptized on Jan. 1, 1971, as one of Jehovah's Witnesses, and until his health became worse, he served full time as a minister of Jehovah for 19 years. He was also a self-employed plumber and truck driver. He was a member of the Sugar Creek Congregation of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses.

He was preceded in death by a son, Joe Black, in 1975.

Survivors include his wife, Loretta Pohl Black; three sons, Luther Ray Black of Rogers, Ark., Lee Odell Black of Almagordo, N. M., and James Luther Black of Combs, Ark.; three daughters, Maydelle Bayona of Rogers, Margaret Henschell of Penticton, British Columbia, Canada, and Beth Ann Fields of Avoca, Ark.; a stepdaughter, Michellene Marret of Prairie Grove, Ark.; 16 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service was held Saturday, May 10, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Rogers, Ark., with Brother Bill Rutherford. Arrangements were by the Benton County Funeral Home of Rogers. Patricia Ann McDaniel Bland Patricia Ann "Granny Pat "McDaniel Bland, 77, of Rogers, Ark., died Friday, May 9, 2008, in Rogers. She was born May 23, 1930, in Rogers to Robert Mc-Daniel and Dorinda Blackburn McDaniel.

Patricia was a lifelong resident of the northwest Arkansas area. She married Edgar Preston Bland on Nov. 5, 1948. She was a member of the Southside Church of Christ in Rogers. She worked for Baldwin Piano and later for Model Laundry and was a member of the Epsilon Sigma Alpha Sorority.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Edgar Preston Bland, on Oct. 13, 2002; two brothers; and two sisters.

Survivors include two sons, David P. Bland and Alan P. Bland both of Rogers; two daughters and sons-in-law, Cathy S. Patterson and Buddy Patterson of Rogers and Lynn A. Davis and Tommy Davis of Farmington, Ark.; three grandsons, Seth E. Patterson and Caleb Patterson, both of Dallas, Texas, and Jacob McWhorter of Farmington; two step-grandchildren, Joy Hutcherson of Columbia, Tenn., and Kelly Rogers of Farmington; two great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; five nieces; three nephews; and several great nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 13, at Southside Church of Christ in Rogers with Jackie Chesnutt. Burial was at Bland Cemetery in Bentonville. Arrangements are by Callison-Lough Funeral Home of Rogers.

Pallbearers were Seth E. Patterson, Jacob D. McWhorter, Preston C. Patterson, Jeffery Neal, Jade Jones and Casey Jones.

Memorials may be made to the Benton County Women's Shelter or the American Cancer Society. Jerry Lloyd David Jerry Lloyd David, 69, of Bentonville, Ark., died Friday, May 9, 2008, in Eureka Springs, Ark. He was born Oct. 22, 1938, in the Mundell, Ark., community to Jerry M. David and Gertrude Marie David.

He served in the U. S. Navy. He was a retired printer. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, cooking, gardening, traveling and spending time outdoors.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Calvin David, Edgar David and Clifford David; four sisters, Dorthea Kelsay, Bonnie Mayfield, Ruth David and Julia Hines.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia David; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry L. David Jr. and Pam David, and Jeffrie A. David and Penny David, all of Rogers, Ark.; a daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer S. Sharp and David Sharp of Bentonville; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Louise Fine and Denver Fine of Idaho and Eva Birchfield of South Dakota; and six grandchildren, Kevin Miller, Danielle David, Justin David, Tayler David, Sam David and Haley Sharp.

Graveside services were held Monday, May 12, at the Ruddick Cemetery near Garfield. Arrangements were by Rollins Funeral Home of Rogers.

Memorials may be made to the Ruddick Cemetery Fund. William Robert Gaddy William Robert "Bill"Gaddy, 79, of Rogers, Ark., died May 8, 2008, at his home. He was born Feb. 1, 1929, in Berryville, Ark., to Roy and Lois Gaddy.

He served in the Korean War, worked several years for North American Rockwell with NASA and was instrumental in the Apollo program. During the Cuban Missile Crisis, he was among the few selected for the elite crew to man the missile site.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, and a brother.

Survivors include four daughters, Jeanenne Herr and husband Tim of Hot Springs, Ark., Mitzi Bird and husband Kurt of Rogers, Sheila Williams of Rogers, and Wanda Doss of Bastrop, Texas; his former wife and friend June Gaddy of Rogers; two sisters, Erma Weston of Rogers, and Juanita Meeks of Liberty, Mo., eight grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Monday, May 12, at Rollins Funeral Home Chapel of Rogers. Interment was in Beula Union Cemetery in Eureka Springs. Arrangements were by Rollins Funeral Home. Juan Marquez Juan Marquez, 22, of Bentonville, Ark., died Sunday, May 4, 2008, in Bentonville. He was born April 1, 1986, in Zacatecas, Mexico, to Sergio Marquez and Maria de Rosario Serrano.

He was a graduate of Rogers High School. He enjoyed going to the lake, canoeing and attending cookouts with his family and friends.

Survivors include his wife, Melanie Marquez; a son, Adam James Amezcua; his parents, Sergio Marquez and Maria de Rosario Serrano; three brothers, Alex Serrano, David Ramirez and Victor Ramirez; a sister, Violeta Ramirez; a sister-in-law, Kristal King; and his father-inlaw and mother-in-law, Michael and Janie Gray.

A mass of Christian burial was held Thursday, May 8, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Rogers. Burial was at the St. Vincent Cemetery in Rogers. Arrangements were by Rollins Funeral Home of Rogers.

Pallbearers were Alex Marquez, Fernando Gomez, Francisco Hernandez, Jose Merlos, Jose Morales, Carlos Serrano, Cesar Sanchez and Jose Serrano.

Memorials may be made to the Juan Marquez Memorial Fund at any Metropolitan National Bank. Bernadine E. Moore Bernadine E. Moore, 84, of Rogers, Ark., died Tuesday, May 6, 2008, at Heritage Park Nursing Center in Rogers. She was born Dec. 5, 1923, in Arlington Heights, Ill., to Raymond White and Cordie White.

She was preceded in death by two husbands, Robert W. Perkins and William Moore; a son, David; two sisters; and a brother.

Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Robert R. Perkins of Bentonville, Ark., and James Perkins and Mary Perkins of Colorado Springs, Colo.; a daughter-inlaw, Shelia Perkins of Gardner, Ill.; two stepdaughters, Bernadette Hebard and her husband George Hebard of Glen Ellyn, Ill., and Beth Saenz of Scottsdale, Ariz.; a stepson, Bill Moore of Downers Grove, Ill.; two sisters, Rosemary Blackstock of Rogers and Lois Peterson of Sandwich, Ill.; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Kenneth White and Patsy White of Rogers, Dale White and Ruth White of Sandwich and Donald White and Betty White of Bluffton, S. C.; 12 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service was held Tuesday, May 13, at the Oakley Chapel United Methodist Church in Rogers. Arrangements were by Rollins Funeral Home of Rogers.

Memorials may be made to the Oakley Chapel United Methodist Church in Rogers. Kathleen O'Brien Kathleen O'Brien, 90, of Rogers, Ark., died Monday, May 5, 2008. She was born Jan. 23, 1918, in Chicago, Ill., to Patrick O'Brien and Margaret Molyneau O'Brien.

She was a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Community in Rogers.

Survivors include four nieces, Elizabeth O'Brien and her husband Ted John of Eagle River, Alaska, Mary Hetland and her husband Paul Hetland of Rochester, N. Y., Patricia Marqua and her husband Charles Marqua of Stratford, Conn., and Teresa O'Brien of Rogers; and a nephew, Kevin O'Brien of Laguna Beach, Calif.

A mass of Christian burial was held Saturday, May 10, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Rogers with Monsignor David LeSieur. Burial will be at a later date at the All Saints Cemetery in Des Plaines, Ill. Arrangements were by Callison-Lough Funeral Home of Rogers.

Beryl Lawrence Perry Beryl Lawrence Perry, 88, of Siloam Springs, Ark., died Friday, May 2, 2008, at his home. He was born April 9, 1920, in Geary County, Kan., to William Perry and Etta Dempsy Perry.

He was raised on a farm near Junction City, Kan., and graduated from high school in Junction City in 1938. He served in the U. S. Navy as a radioman during World War II and the Korean War. He moved to Dodge City, Kan., in 1947 and worked as a salesman for Munns Medical Supply and Equipment. In 1976, he retired to rural Granby, Mo., where he raised cattle and was an avid gardener. He moved to Rogers, Ark., in 1991 and to Siloam Springs in 2002. He was a football and baseball enthusiast and enjoyed outdoor activities.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Erlene Walker Perry; a daughter, Lana Johnson; two brothers; and a grandson.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Dallas Perry and Melissa Perry of Rogers, Ark.; a daughter and son-inlaw, Shereen West and Dennis West of Siloam Springs; a brother, Wayne Perry of Salina, Kan.; two sisters, Bonnie Knapp and Elaine Bethe, both of Salina; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

A memorial graveside service with military honors was held Wednesday, May 7, at the National Cemetery in Fayetteville, Ark., with Pastor Jason Murray. Arrangements were by Wasson Funeral Home of Siloam Springs.

Dorothy Faddis Richardson Dorothy Faddis Richardson, 82, of Decatur, Ark., died Friday, May 9, 2008, at Bentonville Manor in Bentonville, Ark. She was born Sept. 5, 1925, in Red Star, Ark., to Wesley Friend and Rebecca Collins Friend.

She lived the majority of her life in Gentry, Ark., and Decatur, where she was a homemaker. She was a member of the Ever Ready Educational Homemakers Club in Decatur and volunteered at the Decatur Care Store. She was affiliated with the Assembly of God Church in Decatur and the Springtown Pentecostal Church.

She was preceded in death by two husbands, William Argus Faddis and Ben Richardson.

Survivors include three sons and a daughter-in-law, William Faddis and Terry Faddis both of Gentry, and Thomas Faddis and Tess Faddis of Pineville, Mo.; four daughters and sons-in-law, Wilma Hubbard and Bob Hubbard, Andra Hecht and Darrell Hecht and Wanda Faddis, all of Decatur., and Frankie Kelley and Randy Kelley of Bella Vista, Ark.; a brother, Andy Friend of Huntsville, Ark.; a sister, Ipha Roberts of Rogers, Ark.; 12 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 13, at Wasson Memorial Chapel in Siloam Springs with Pastor Sherman Robinson. Burial was at Falling Springs Cemetery in Decatur. Arrangements were by Wasson Funeral Home of Siloam Springs.

Pallbearers were Bob Hubbard, William Faddis, Terry Faddis, Thomas Faddis, Randy Kelley, Darrell Hecht and Bobby Hubbard II. Lenore Marion Richey Lenore Marion Richey of Rogers, Ark., died Friday, May 9, 2008. She was born Dec. 13, 1920, in Mooreville, Miss., to Henry Coyt Marion and Mattie Ann Whiteside.

She earned her master's degree in Library Science and was a librarian at the University of Georgia. She was active for over 30 years in the Friendship Presbyterian Church in Athens, Ga., where she served as an Elder. She spent four years in Nigeria with SIM on an interdenominational missionary team.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Dale James Richey; a daughter, Karen Richey; and a son, Peter Richey.

Survivors include two sons Jan Richey and wife Becca, Rodny Richey and wife Faye; several grandchildren and greatgrandchildren.

Funeral services were held Sunday, May 11, at the Holiday Island Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Miss Clare Kelley officiating. A graveside memorial service will take place Saturday May 17, at Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery in Athens, Ga. Arrangements were by Callison-Lough Funeral Home of Rogers.

James William'Boy' Roberts James William "Boy "Roberts, 77, of Rogers, Ark., died Sunday, May 4, 2008. He was born April 6, 1931, in Best, Ark., to Altus Earl Roberts and Nellie Mae Oxford Roberts.

He was a Freewill Baptist. He served in the U. S. Army during the Korean conflict. He was a member of the Fox Hunters Lodge and enjoyed camping and fishing.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Altus Dejarnett and Artie Kirk.

Survivors include his wife, Helen Relethford Roberts; four sons and three daughters-in-law, Jerry Roberts and Annella Roberts of Bella Vista, Ark., Larry Roberts and Lori Roberts of Springdale, Ark., Dale Hutson and Jan Hutson of Pea Ridge, Ark., and Ivan Roberts of Rogers; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Graveside services were held Thursday, May 8, at the Bayless Cemetery in Gateway, Ark., with Brother Anthony Lane. Arrangements were by Callison-Lough Funeral Home of Rogers. JoAnn Simons JoAnn Simons, 69, of Rogers, Ark., died Sunday, May 4, 2008, in Springdale, Ark. She was born Feb. 6, 1938, to Scoville Hust and Wilma Ann Woehler Hust. She married Ted Simons on Oct. 15, 1955, at the Chapel of the Wedding Bells in Lake-Simons wood, Calif. She had been employed with Sterling Transit for 12 years and with Wal-Mart, retiring in 2000. She enjoyed cooking. Survivors include her husband, Ted Simons; three sons, Rob Simons of Riverside, Calif., Don Simons of Rogers and Dean Simons of San Diego, Calif.; a brother, Bill Hust of Midwest City, Okla.; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Arrangements were by Callison-Lough Funeral Home of Rogers. Wilma Simpson Wilma Simpson, 74, of Pea Ridge, Ark., died Saturday, May 3, 2008, at Northwest Medical Center in Bentonville, Ark. She was born Aug. 14, 1933, in Wagner, Okla., to Donald Gilliland and Lila Frances Haynes Gilliland.

She was employed as a telephone supervisor for Pacific Bell in California, retiring after 20 years. In 1994, she moved to Pea Ridge from Bakersfield, Calif. She worked at Miss Neecy's Day Care in Pea Ridge and was a member of the Church of Today in Rogers, Ark. She enjoyed sewing, reading and gardening.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Susie.

Survivors include her husband, James Simpson; a daughter and son-in-law, Debra Moore and Gary Moore of Bakersfield, Calif.; three sons and two daughters-in-law, David Collins of Stonewall, Okla., and Sidney Collins and Jodi Collins, and Bill Simpson and Sam Simpson, all of Pea Ridge; three sisters, Sylvia, Joann and Edith; two brothers, Don Billy Gilliland of Arizona and Floyd Lee Gilliland of Oregon; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 7, at the Sisco Funeral Home Chapel in Pea Ridge with Pastor Richard L. Burress. Burial was at the Pea Ridge Cemetery. William Vernon Spicer William Vernon Spicer, 48, of Rogers, Ark., died Wednesday, May 7, 2008, at his home. He was born July 31, 1959, in Indiana. He worked for Southwestern Sales in Rogers.

He is survived by his life partner, Tina Lopez of the home.

No funeral services were planned. Arrangements were by Benton County Funeral Home of Rogers. Ethel I. Stapleton Ethel I. Stapleton, 82, of Rogers, Ark., died Monday, May 5, 2008, in Fayetteville, Ark. She was born July 19, 1925, in Tyler, Texas, to William VanHouten and Ethel Boatright VanHouten.

She worked for Crane Co. until her retirement in 1989. She was a member of the Sunnyside Baptist Church in Rogers, where she taught Sunday school for many years. She enjoyed growing roses and irises and writing poetry.

She was preceded in death by two husbands, Charles Wilson and Haskell Stapleton; a daughter, Betty Jean Hudson; two brothers; and a sister.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry Self and Wanda Self of Rogers and Larry Wilson and Leticia Wilson of Fayetteville, Ark.; a daughter and son-in-law, Mary Baxter and Scott Baxter of West Lafayette, Ind.; two sisters, Lela Mae Miles of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Betty Wade of Texas; 10 grandchildren, Kathy Hawkins, Toni Hudson, Angela Ferguson, Joanie Cleveland, Jeremy Self, Whitney Baxter, Courtney Baxter, Rhett Baxter, Channing Wilson and Chaes Wilson; four great-grandchildren, Jennifer Hawkins, Tyler Hawkins, Jamie Hudson and Bailey Ferguson; and a great-great-grandchild, Roper Hudson.

Funeral services were held Thursday, May 8, at the Sunnyside Baptist Church in Rogers with Jim Bland. Burial was at the Walnut Hill Cemetery in Avoca, Ark. Arrangements were by the Benton County Funeral Home of Rogers.

Pallbearers were Laney Hudson, Gary Hawkins, Rhett Baxter, Chaes Wilson, Scott Baxter, Jeremy Self, Tyler Hawkins and John Cleveland. Linda Jean White Linda Jean White, 61, of Springdale, Ark., died Wednesday, May 7, 2008, at Mercy Medical Center in Rogers, Ark. She was born Jan. 22, 1947, in Camden, Ark., to Marion Craig and Emma Jean Smith Craig.

She married Alvin White on Dec. 16, 1967, in North Little Rock, Ark. She moved to this area in 1973. She worked as a surgical nurse at St. Vincent's in Little Rock, Ark.; Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville, Ark.; Northwest Medical Center in Springdale; and most recently for Dr. Gareth Eck. She attended Johnson Baptist Church and was involved in Awana.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Lorraine Anderson; and a granddaughter, Rachael White.

Survivors include her husband, Alvin White; two sons and daughters-in-law, Dusty White and Karla White of Rogers, Ark., and Deke White and Carrie White of Pea Ridge, Ark.; a daughter and son-inlaw, Brandi Russell and Wesley Russell of Springdale; two brothers, Charles Craig of Camden, Ark., and Jim Craig of Monroe, La.; a sister, Brenda Craig of Springdale; and four grandchildren.

Graveside services were held Saturday, May 10, at the Bentonville Cemetery in Bentonville, Ark. Arrangements were by Sisco Funeral Home of Pea Ridge.
