Matthew Ryon Baker

Matthew Ryon Baker, 23, of Rogers, Ark., died Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2008, in Rogers. He was born April 10, 1984, in Starkville, Miss., to Stanley Baker and Cindi Baker.

He had lived in northwest Arkansas for about 12 years, moving from Cedar Bluffs, Neb. He was a 2002 graduate of Rogers High School, where he was a member of the football, track and baseball teams. He was a member of the Babe Ruth All-Stars. He was attending Northwest Arkansas Community College in Bentonville, Ark. He was a sales associate for Dillard’s at the Pinnacle Hills Promenade in Rogers for about a year. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, hiking and sports.

Survivors include his parents, Stanley and Cindi Baker of the home; a sister, Shelley Nicole Baker of Rogers; and his grandparents, Pete and Elizabeth Alford of Gunnison, Miss., and Milton and Claudine Baker of Indianola, Miss.

A memorial service was held. Saturday, Jan. 26, at the Immanuel Baptist Church in Rogers. Arrangements were by Stockdale Funeral Services of Rogers.

Pallbearers were Isaac Rivas, Shane Latta, Danny Rivas, Tyler Remington, Chuck Key, Rick Robinson, Brandon Philpot, Fernando Gaucin, Davis Alford, Lake DeLoach III, Adam Schroeder and Adam Harrison.

Edward Birnbuam, 91, of Rogers, Ark., died Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2008, at his home. He was born Aug. 12, 1916, in Philadelphia, Pa., to Edward J. Birnbuam and June Pohlman Birnbuam.

He was a veteran, serving in two wars with the U. S. military.

He was preceded in death by his wife, June Birnbuam; a brother, Robert Paul Birnbuam; and a sister, Dorothy Ann.

Survivors include a son, Terry Birnbuam of Pennsylvania; a sister, Lorraine; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Graveside services were held Thursday, Jan. 24, at the Benton County Memorial Park in Rogers. Arrangements were by Callison-Lough Funeral Home Chapel of Rogers. Eileen Burchell

Eileen Burchell, 78, of Lowell, Ark., died Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2008, at Hospice House in Springdale, Ark. She was born Dec. 30, 1929, in Rhea, Ark., to Walter Edwin Searcy and Maggie Louise Hartman Searcy.

She graduated from Bentonville High School in Bentonville, Ark. She married Tom Burchell on Nov. 18, 1967. She worked for the U. S. Postal Service as a rural mail carrier in the Rogers area for 18 years. She enjoyed sewing, cooking and shopping.

She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Kelly Orndorff; a sister; and a brother.

Survivors include her husband of 40 years, Tom Burchell; a son and daughter-in-law, Dale Ridenour and Marianne Ridenour of Rogers, Ark.; a daughter and son-in-law, Teresa Waggoner and Curtis Waggoner of Lowell; a granddaughter, Lisa Zimmerman of Rogers; and two great-grandchildren.

Graveside services were held Friday, Jan. 25, at the Centerton Cemetery in Centerton, Ark., with Minister Gary Blackburn. Arrangements were by Stockdale Funeral Services of Rogers

Junior Byler, 82, of Rogers, Ark., died Saturday, Jan. 26, 2008, at Golden Living Center in Rogers. He was born Jan. 21, 1926, in Garfield, Ark., to Roy Samuel Byler and Pearl Green Byler.

He was a lifelong resident of the area, a commercial and residential electrician, enjoyed music and singing, making bird houses and feeders and gardening. He was a Primitive Baptist.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy Ray Byler; two sisters, Maxine Byler and LaVerna Wood; and a nephew, Ron Wood.

Survivors include a niece, Terry Munnerlyn and her husband David Munnerlyn; four great nieces, Krystal Munnerlyn, Ronna Rose, Jessica Wood and Jennifer Wood; a great nephew, Cody Munnerlyn; and a Great-great nephew, Ezekial Rose, all of Rogers.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a. m. Wednesday, Jan. 30 at the funeral home with Buddy Wright. Burial will be at the Liberty Cemetery. Arrangements were by Sisco Funeral Home of Pea Ridge, Ark. Lorene Clardy

Lorene Clardy, 91, of Rogers, Ark., died Saturday, Jan. 19, 2008, in Rogers. She was born Feb. 17, 1916, in Bienville, La., to Steve Renfrow and Lena Renfrow.

She was a Pentecostal. She enjoyed sewing and making dolls.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Elza Clardy, in 1989; and a sister, Vera Cowart.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Richard Clardy and Wanda Clardy of Watts, Okla.; a daughter and son-inlaw, Melba Juanita Hanna and Ted Hanna of Pea Ridge, Ark.; 10 grandchildren; 21 greatgrandchildren; and six greatgreat-grandchildren.

A cryptside service was held Wednesday, Jan. 23, at the Benton County Memorial Park Mausoleum with David Barker. Arrangements were by Rollins Funeral Home of Rogers. Mildred Mae Ellis

Mildred Mae Ellis, 93, of Rogers, Ark., died Saturday, Jan. 26, 2008, in Rogers. She was born Feb. 2, 1914, in Benton County, Ark., to Oscar and Lilie Farriester Bolin.

She was a retired seamstress, and she enjoyed gardening and flowers.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Ellis, a sister and a nephew.

Survivors include her special friends, Edward and Evelyn Ettien of Rogers, and Wilma Townzen of Rogers; and several cousins.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Jan. 29, at Rollins Funer al Home Chapel with the Rev. Lyndle Taylor. Interment was in the Austin Cemetery. Arrangements were by Rollins Funeral Home of Rogers. Hazel Fabrizio

Hazel Fabrizio, 86, of Rogers, Ark., died Thursday, Jan. 24, 2008, in Rogers. She was born June 8, 1921, in Nida, Okla., to Byrd Blackburn and Myrtle Moody Blackburn.

She married Stephen Fabrizio in Denison, Texas. She was a member of St. William’s Catholic Church in Durant, Okla. She enjoyed reading and writing.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Stephen Fabrizio; and a son, Chris Fabrizio, on Dec 26, 2004.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Sonny Woodruff and Patty Woodruff of Springfield, Mo.; a daughter, Angela Fabrizio of Fayetteville, Ark.; a brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth Blackburn and Jessie Blackburn of Kenefic, Okla.; a sister, Inez Falcone of Fort Worth, Texas; six grandchildren, Alan of Bentonville, Ark., Todd and Amy, both of Pea Ridge, Ark., Misty and Erin, both of Rogers, and Naomi of Fayetteville; 15 greatgrandchildren; and three greatgreat-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday, Jan. 28, at the Coffey-Murray Chapel in Durant, Okla. Burial was at the Calvary Cemetery in Denison, Texas. Arrangements were by Coffey-Murray Funeral Home of Durant. Desse McKinley Fields

Desse McKinley Fields, 76, of Rogers, Ark., died Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2008, in Rogers. He was born Sept. 5, 1931, in Winslow, Ark., to Jacob Fields and Bertha Mary Shepherd Fields.

He was a truck driver.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Loretta Fields; and two sons, Danny Fields and Dwayne Fields.

Survivors include three sons, Dennis Fields of Bartlesville, Okla., David Fields of Springdale, Ark., and Dwight Fields of Rogers; a daughter, Donna Little of Bartlesville; a brother, Ernie Fields of Claremore, Okla.; two sisters, Lorraine Bradford of Prairie Creek, Ark., and Loudene Hockersmith of Rogers; 13 grandchildren; and 21 greatgrandchildren.

Graveside services were held Saturday, Jan. 26, at the Walnut Hill Chapel Cemetery near Avoca, Ark. Arrangements were by Rollins Funeral Home of Rogers. Maria Rosa Martinez Garcia

Maria Rosa Martinez Garcia, 65, of Lowell, Ark., died Monday, Jan. 21, 2008, in Bentonville, Ark. She was born Aug. 29, 1942, in Tarandacuao, GTO, Mexico, to Jose Martinez and Maria Dolores Perez.

She was a homemaker and a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Rogers, Ark.

A funeral Mass was held Thursday, Jan. 24, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Rogers. Arrangements were by the Benton County Funeral Home of Rogers. Margaret Eileen Skinner Kirkpatrick

Margaret Eileen Skinner Kirk patrick, 83, of Rogers, Ark., died Monday, Jan. 21, 2008. She was born March 13, 1924, in Spencer, Iowa, to Oren W. Skinner and Edna Eileen Curtis Skinner.

She married Robert B. Kirkpatrick on Oct. 16, 1943, in Los Angeles, Calif. She retired as a bookkeeper for the Moreland School District in Campbell, Calif. She was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church in Rogers. In her earlier years, she was active with the choir and served the church in many other areas. She was a past matron of San Jose No. 31 Order of the Eastern Star in California. She volunteered many hours working with the Rainbow Girls and church youth groups.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert B. Kirkpatrick, on April 29, 2005.

Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Richard Kirkpatrick and Christine Kirkpatrick of San Jose, Calif., and Andrew Keil of Huntington Beach, Calif.; a daughter and son-in-law, Dianne Aerts and Larry Aerts of Rogers; eight grandchildren; and five greatgrandchildren.

A memorial service was held Monday, Jan. 28, at the First Presbyterian Church in Rogers with Dr. Jerry Rice. Cremation arrangements were by Stockdale Funeral Services of Rogers.

Oneta Marshall, 74, of Rogers, Ark., died Saturday, Jan. 19, 2008, in Rogers. She was born June 14, 1933, in Swain, Ark., to Freeland Thomas Marshall and Ruby Victoria Smith Marshall.

She retired from Rogers Tool Works. She enjoyed cooking and going to garage sales.

She was preceded in death by two sons, John C. Worrell and Matthew L. Mitchell; a brother; and a sister.

Survivors include two daughters, Darlene Westenhaver and Arlene Herren, both of Rogers; a brother, James C. Marshall of Rogers; four sisters, Jane Saxon of Rogers, Colean Meeks of Bentonville, Ark., Juanita Woodmancy of Noel, Mo., and Lucille Townsend of Pineville, Mo.; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a great-great grandchild.

A memorial service was held Friday, Jan. 25, at the Rollins Funeral Home Chapel in Rogers with Bill Woodmancy. Burial was at the Mount Pleasant Cemetery near Hiwasse, Ark.

Richard L. Ring, 79, of Rogers, Ark., died Thursday, Jan. 24, 2008, in Rogers. He was born April 25, 1928, in Madison, Wis., to Lawrence Ring and Arlotte Torgerson Ring.

He served in the U. S. Army from 1950 to 1952. He was retired. He was a member of the Lutheran Church.

Survivors include his wife, Joan Ring; a son; Larry Ring; a daughter, Lillian Ring; two stepdaughters, Rhonda Meade and her husband Keith Meade, and ReJeana Miller and her husband Dan Miller, all of Rogers; three stepsons, Rory Hueth, Ronnie Hueth, and Robert Hueth and his wife Teresa Hueth; nine grandchildren, Misty See, Monica Head, Mark Meade, Shannon Stout, Katherine Miller, Jessica Hueth, Melissa Hueth, Jason Hueth and Rachel Hueth; and several great-grandchildren.

Graveside services were held Monday, Jan. 28, at the National Cemetery in Fayetteville, Ark. Full military honors were provided by Bella Vista Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9063. Arrangements were by the Benton County Funeral Home of Rogers. Gladys Robertson

Gladys Robertson, 89, of Rogers, Ark., died Saturday, Jan. 26, 2008, in Rogers. She was born Dec. 31, 1919, in Oakman, Ala., to Sylvestor and Selina Thompson Wade.

She was a homemaker and attended the Southside Church of Christ in Rogers.

Survivors include two sons and one daughter-in-law, Rick Robertson and Barbara Robertson of Fayetteville, Ark., and Bobby Robertson; a sister, Lillian Hickmon of Rogers; a brother, Moultie Powell of Oakman, Ala.; two grandsons and granddaughters-in-law, Michael Robertson and Laura Robertson of Bella Vista, Ark., and Joey Robertson and Terry Robertson of Tulsa, Okla., three greatgrandchildren, Evan Robertson of Centerton, Ark., and Cooper and Carter Robertson, both of Tulsa. Funeral services were held Tuesday, Jan. 29, at Southside Church of Christ in Rogers. Internment was at the Bentonville City Cemetery with Jackie Chesnut and Randall Caselman. Philip Tharp, 57, of Pea Ridge, Ark., died Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2008, at his home. He was born Nov. 9, 1950, in Deadwood, S. D., to John Tharp and Mary Elizabeth Neville Tharp.

He served in the U. S. Air Force and the Army National Guard. He was an electrical engineer. He was an MIAA basketball official for 34 years. He was a member of the Christian Life Cathedral in Bentonville, Ark. He enjoyed working out and riding his Harley.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary Tharp; and two sisters, Mary Faith Tharp and Sarah Alma Tharp.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Brad Tharp and Christy Tharp of Independence, Mo.; two brothers, John Tharp of Harrisonville, Mo., and David Tharp of Fayetteville, Ark.; five sisters, Carla Behrens of Flint Ridge, Okla., Randie Brennaman of Harrison, Ark., Judi Snoderly of Rogers, Ark., and Stacey Murphy and Jori Bell, both of Pea Ridge; his fiance, Tuli Soderland of Peculiar, Mo.; and two grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 26, at the Sisco Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Terry Baker. Burial was at the Walnut Hill Cemetery in Avoca, Ark., with full military honors provided by the Rogers Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3031 Honor Team. Arrangements were by Sisco Funeral Home of Pea Ridge.
