Grace United Methodist Church

Grace United Methodist Church will hold a garage sale from 7 a. m. to 2 p. m. May 17 at the church, 1801 S. Dixieland, Rogers. All proceeds will be used for church missions. Central United Methodist Church

Central United Methodist Church, 2535 W. New Hope Road, Rogers, service times are: early service at 8: 15 a. m., Sunday school at 9: 15 a. m., fellowship at 10: 15 a. m., and traditional and contemporary services at 10: 30 a. m.

“ Who Asked For Your Two Cents Worth ? ” will be the sermon topic at the 8: 15 a. m. and 10: 30 a. m. worship services Sunday.

On May 31 at 6 p. m., the church will be hosting a celebration banquet for Rev. Biff Averitt. This event will honor Biff and Ann Averitt and celebrate their 40 years in ministry. Biff will be retiring at the end of June.

The First United Methodist Church, 307 W. Elm St., Rogers, is presenting a lectureship series with Dr. Jay McDaniel from 2 to 7 p. m. June 1.

McDaniel is professor and chair of religion at Hendrix College and an author of five books, a noted speaker and teacher.

A luncheon will be held at noon June 2. McDaniel will present One World, Many Faiths — Christianity and World Religions with special focus on Islam.

Vacation Bible School will be from 6: 30 to 8: 30 p. m. July 7 through 10. The VBS theme is “ Beach Party — Surfin ’ Through the Scriptures. ” Dinner will be served each night at 6 p. m. Free Will Baptist Church of Pea Ridge

Ladies ’ Bible study will meet at 7 p. m. Thursday, May 15, and continues with Lesson 2: “ We Should Learn to Think Before We Speak. ” All ladies are welcome.

Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Fayetteville, 901 W. Cleveland, holds Sunday worship at 11 a. m. Nursery care is available.

May 18 — Rev. Kerry Mueller, “ Most Precious Gifts. ” This service will include special music, some words from pianist Chris Davis and a flower ceremony. Bring a flower, take home a different flower.

May 25 — For this Memorial Day weekend service, Rev. Dave Hunter will share letters that his grandparents might have written to him (but did not ), in response to questions that he might have asked them (but did not ).

June 1 — Rev. Kerry Mueller, “ Fooling Mother Nature. ” We are committed to the preservation of the “ interdependent web of existence” of which we are a part. Where did this commitment come from and how did it become so important for us ?
