Bella Vista Iota Alpha Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi
Bella Vista Iota Alpha Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi will tour the Peel House on Nov. 19. This event will be the November social. Member Mary Frizzell will act as tour guide. If you missed the last meeting, contact any member of the social committee for details. Lunch will follow the tour. Preceptor Alpha Upsilon
Opening Ritual for Preceptor Alpha Upsilon was given by president Nancy Chaffee at the home of Nancy King. A guest from Anderson, Mo., wishes to join. We will contact international recommending a chapter that is closer to her.
Phone committee reported all were contacted; Ways & Means, Kathy Spila and group will have a casino. A personal thank you was received from the Wellness Center for the $ 75 donation to assist three seniors in membership fees. Jane Gustin will get the names for seniors for the Christmas Tree.
Rozanne Lovell handed out a flyer on the Ozark Mountain British Brass Band “ Sounds of the Season” to be held at 7: 30 p. m. Dec. 5 at the Arend Arts Center, Bentonville. High school tickets are $ 8 in advance and $ 10 at the door. Chery Peterson reported the Year Book.
There will be only one meeting in December, on Dec. 8. Members are to bring both the oatmeal and Children’s Advocacy drinks / snacks. The Special Project was passed from Rozanne Lovell to Wilma Fizer. Callie Ockerman reported the Scrap Book was coming along. Year Book, Chery Peterson reported on upcoming events; Rozanne Lovell read from the Yard Stick on Endowment Fund. Rozanne Lovell took the vote on food for the Christmas Party Dec. 12. The New York Strip and Walleyed Pike were the choices. An e-mail will notify all of the cost and checks are to be given to Bobbi Poe at the next meeting. The next meeting will be Nov. 24 at Rozanne Lovell’s.
Rogers Christian Church will host their “ The Faithful Witness” drive through drama from 6: 30 to 8: 30 p. m. Dec. 7-9 at 25 th and Oak streets.
Secret Sister gifts were distributed. Refreshments were served. Nancy King’s program was “ Mercy Hospital and Doctors Clinics serving you. ” She urged anyone having problems to contact them immediately. Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3031
Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3031 Fall Fest fundraiser for unmet needs will be held from 5 p. m. to 9 p. m. Nov. 22 at 11160 Old Wire Road, just pass the airport. Polka and waltz to the Garbonzo Band from Springfield, Mo., to help the post raise funds for our soldiers.
Unmet needs are calling cards, college funds for orphans of killed-in-action military personnel, grants for families of military personnel having financial difficulties, computer training and help of any kind where needed.
Tickets are $ 10 and can be obtained at the VFW in Rogers or call 636-7042. The VFW is community orientated and always available for education and help.
