Bartlesville, Okla.

A CLASSIC EVENT The OK Mozart Festival will run from June 13-21 at various venues throughout the city. The event will be highlighted by an 8 p.m. performance by Branford Marsalis, an acclaimed American jazz and classical saxophonist, at the Bartlesville Community Center, 300 S.E. Adams St. The festival will open with an Open Night Celebration at 6 p.m. at the community center. Other highlights include an 8 p.m. visit by Tony Award-winning actor Ben Vereen and a 7:30 p.m. performance by the New York Theatre Ballet on June 16. Both events will be at the community center. Other sites include Bartlesville High School's Fine Arts Center, 1700 S.E. Hillcrest Drive, and St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 210 S.E. HOT EATS, SOUNDS The Bluegrass & BBQ Festival will run from Saturday to June 1 at Silver Dollar City. The event will feature more than 50 bands giving more than 500 shows, including performances from artists such as the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Rhonda Vincent and Cherryholmes. On the food side of things, The House of BBQ will serve everything from St. Louis ribs to Texas brisket. Other events include the second annual Single Mic Championship May 17-18 and the Youth In Bluegrass Band Competition on May 24 and 25. Hot Springs

WHAT'S 'HOT' From June 1-14, the Hot Springs Music Festival will take place at various venues throughout the city. The event, now in its 13th season, will bring more than 250 internationally acclaimed musicians for 20 concerts and more than 250 open rehearsals. During a two-week period, these highly sought musicians will be paired and play side-by-side with pre-professional apprentices. More than 20,000 people attended the festival last year, with an additional 6.4 million hearing the concerts on nationwide radio broadcasts. Festival season passes are available for a donation of $125. Although some concerts are free, others range from $5-$15. All rehearsals and pre-concert talks are free. JAZZ IT UP The Rhythm & Ribs 18th and Vine Jazz Festival will take place June 13 and 14 in the city's jazz district downtown. Headlining acts include Angie Stone from 9-11 p.m. June 13 and George Duke from 9:30-11 p.m. June 14. The festival will run from 3-11 p.m. June 13 and from 11:30 a.m. to 11 p.m.. June 14. The Rhythm & Ribs "Smoke It, Baby!"Barbecue Contest will also take place during the weekend. Adult one-day tickets can purchased online for $18, in advance for $25 and at the gate for $30. BUGGIN' Break out the Beetle. The fifth annual Ozark Volkswagen Festival will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 17 at the Taylor's Sons of the Ozarks Music Theatre at 16484 Arkansas 9, two miles south of Mountain View. There will also be a barbecue dinner for those who pre-registered their cars at 4 p.m. May 16. The free event will feature new and customized show car Volkwagens. Last year, 55 cars took part in the event. Awards will be given for first, second and third place, as well as Best of Show and People's Choice. The cost to register a car is $20. BEHIND THE MASK "The Phantom of the Opera"will play from June 18 to July 13 at the Chapman Music Hall at the Tulsa Performing Arts Center. The musical, which has been performed in more than 100 cities across the globe and was made into a movie in 2004, is considered one of Andrew Lloyd Webber's finest works with classic songs such as "Music of the Night"and "All I Ask of You."The show will start at 7:30 p.m. Tuesdays-Thursdays and at 8 p.m. on Fridays. In addition, there will be Saturday performances at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. and Sunday shows at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. The show on July 4 will take place at 2 p.m. The center is located at 110 E.
