Farmington

Zoal “Bub” Ratliff, 73, of Farmington died Sunday, June 29, 2008, at his home. He was born Oct. 26, 1934, in Wheeler, the son of Albert and Bertha Gladys Boyd Ratliff. He served in the U. S. Navy. He retired from the University of Arkansas Physical Plant with over 37 years of service. He was preceded in death by a sister, Lorna Thomas; and his father, Albert Ratliff. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Mary Ratliff; his mother, Gladys Boatright of Farmington; his daughter, Sheila Andrews and her husband Jon of Fayetteville; two sons, Tim Ratliff of Fayetteville and Lance Ratliff of Farmington; two grandchildren, Hesston Andrews of Fayetteville and Cambre Awtrey of Huntsville; one sister, Emma Frances Hale and husband Ben of Farmington; and one brother, Ronnie Ratliff and his wife Lela of Springdale. Visitation will be from 5-7 p. m. today at Moore’s Chapel. A graveside service will be held at 10 a. m. Thursday at Fayetteville National Cemetery under the direction of Moore’s Chapel. Pallbearers will be Danny Hays, David Hays, Duane Miller, Kelly Sharp, Jerry Peters and Bobby Schader. Honorary pallbearers will be Joe Kenney, James Knight, Alton Pennington, Rusty Boyd, Jack Niccum, Jim Nelson and Dave Stambuck. Springdale

Tina Hulse, 43, of Springdale died Saturday, June 28, 2008. She was born Feb. 23, 1965, in Wilson to Charles William and Joyce Jerene Bryant. Survivors include her husband, Buster Hulse; a son, Chris Dugard of Springdale; two stepdaughters, Angie Bennett of San Diego and Cindy Roger of Springdale; two brothers, Rick Bryant of Springdale and Chris Bryant of Garfield; a grandparent, Ona Randleas of Springdale; and six grandchildren. Ernest Langer, 76, of Springdale died Saturday, June 28, 2008. He was born March 18, 1932, in Verona, Mo., to Herman and Minda Rudolph Langer. He was employed by First National Bank and EFCO Corp. of Monett, Mo., and retired from ENCORE Computer. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Peace Lutheran Church; St. John’s Lutheran Church; Freistatt Lions Club in Freistatt, Mo.; Hubert H. Kleiboeker American Legion; and the Writing Club at Shiloh Museum. He retired from the U. S. Army Reserve after 22 years. Survivors include his wife, Ann Mitchell Langer; two daughters, Jane Langer of Lantana, Texas, and Karen Willard of Highland Village, Texas; three stepchildren, Deonne Meloche, Denise Rose and Donna Ferguson; two sisters, Doris Meyer and Shirley Stanford, both of Monett, Mo.; two brothers, Lavern Langer of Powersite, Mo., and Harold Langer of Fair Play, Mo.; one granddaughter; six stepgrandchildren; and two stepgreat-grandchildren. James W. Newby, 72, of Springdale died Monday, June 30, 2008, at Circle of Life Hospice. He was born Dec. 12, 1935, in Osage to James Ernest and Alma Files Newby. He was a member of Thomas Lakeview Bible Church and the North American Checker Club. Survivors include a brother, Zickle Faye Newby of Siloam Springs; and two sisters, Mary Files and Nellie Citrini, both of Montpelier, Vt. Jim Roam, 80, of Springdale died Tuesday, July 1, 2008, in Fayetteville. He was born June 8, 1928, in Fort Smith. He served in the U. S. Army during the Korean conflict and worked as a truck driver. He attended First Assembly of God in Springdale. Survivors include his wife, Judith West Roam; three sons, Frank Roam of Rolla, Mo., and Roger Roam and Tommy Roam, both of St. Louis; a daughter, Patty Wilbanks of St. Louis; and two brothers, Herb and Charlie Roam. John Christopher Triden, 37, of Summers died Friday, June 27, 2008. He was born Oct. 11, 1970, in St. Paul, Minn., to Jacques Triden and Mary Hayes Rosewicz. Arnold Dean Fennell, 67, of Hindsville died Monday, June 30, 2008, at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale. He was born Dec. 13, 1940, in Booneville to Walter Fennell Sr. and Sylvia Velina Ellis Fennell. He was a U. S. navy veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of the Hickory Grove Freewill Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Lola Faye Parrish Fennell; a son, Les Whelchel of Hindsville; two daughters, Glynis Whelchel Allen of Springdale and Nona Lynette Fennell Spillars of Fayetteville; two brothers, Donald Eugene Fennell of Imperial Beach, Fla., and Doyle Fennell of Midwest City, Okla.; two sisters, Mary Ellen Glass of Indio, Calif., and Patsy Rose Fennell Drake of Arbor, Ore.; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Johnie Leroy Long, 36, of Rogers died Monday, June 30, 2008, at Mercy Medical Center. He was born Jan. 12, 1972, in Millington, Tenn., to Harry Counts and Josie Sanfratello Counts. He was raised by his maternal grandparents, Johnie and Geraldine Sanfratello. He served in the U. S. Marine Corps in the Mediterranean, Bosnia and Somalia. He was senior commander of the Royal Rangers Outpost 211 at New Hope Assembly of God, where he was also a member. He was employed by the city of Rogers. Survivors include his wife of 16 years, Donna Long; a son, Martin Long; a daughter, Isabel Long; two brothers, Harry Long of Lepanto and David Long of Las Vegas; a sister, Rebecca Long of Hot Springs; maternal grandparents, Johnie and Marylou Sanfratello of Marion; paternal grandfather, Harry Counts of Miami. A memorial service will be held at 10 a. m. Thursday at New Hope Assembly of God with Pastor James Longmate officiating. Burial with military honors will be at 2 p. m. West Siloam Springs, Okla.

Thomas “Tom” Powell Allen, 89, of West Siloam Springs, Okla., died Monday, June 30, 2008. He was born in Cherokee City to James Robert and Mamie Boyer Allen. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. He managed DX Service Station in Tulsa, Okla., for 30 years and was a member of past president of the Oil Capital Rod and Gun Club. He returned to Cherokee City in 1980 to ranch on the Allen family farm. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Mariann Marsh. Survivors include his wife, Marie Elliott French Allen; a brother, Sam B. Allen of Fort Smith; a grandson and a great-grandson. Visitation will be from 1-6 p. m.
