Fayetteville

Miss Shelby Forbes, 23, of Fayetteville passed away Sunday, June 29, 2008, in Fayetteville. She was born July 18, 1984, in Hot Springs. She was a recent University of Arkansas graduate and a Methodist. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Jane Partee Burrow, and paternal grandfather, E. C. Forbes Sr. She is survived by her parents, E. C. "Butch"Forbes Jr. and Raney (Burrow ) Forbes of Fayetteville; one sister, Madison Forbes of the home; maternal grandfather, Larry Burrow and wife Kathy of Magnolia; paternal grandmother, Yvonne Hinson Forbes of High Point, N. C.; paternal grandparents, Phillip and Mary Webb of Bradenton, Fla.; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Visitation will be held from 5-9 p.m. Wednesday at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in the chapel of Nelson-Berna Funeral Home with the Rev. Jim Keith officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Memorial Gardens in Fayetteville. Farmington

Zoal "Bub"Ratliff, 73, of Farmington died Sunday, June 29, 2008, at his home. He was born Oct. 26, 1934, in Wheeler, the son of Albert and Bertha Gladys Boyd Ratliff. He served in the U. S. Navy. He retired from the University of Arkansas Physical Plant with over 37 years of service. He was preceded in death by a sister, Lorna Thomas. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Mary Ratliff; his mother, Gladys Boatright of Farmington; his daughter, Sheila Andrews and her husband Jon of Fayetteville; two sons, Tim Ratliff of Fayetteville and Lance Ratliff of Farmington; two grandchildren, Hesston Andrews of Fayetteville and Cambre Awtrey of Huntsville; one sister, Emma Frances Hale and husband Ben of Farmington; and one brother, Ronnie Ratliff and his wife Lela of Springdale. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at Moore's Chapel. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Fayetteville National Cemetery under the direction of Moore's Chapel. Pallbearers will be Danny Hays, David Hays, Duane Miller, Kelly Sharp, Jerry Peters and Bobby Schader. Honorary pallbearers will be Joe Kenney, James Knight, Alton Pennington, Rusty Boyd, Jack Niccum, Jim Nelson and Dave Stambuck. Macel L. Bryant, 77, of Springdale died Sunday, June 29, 2008, at Northwest Medical Center in Springdale. She was born April 3, 1931, in St. Paul to Virgil and Anna Johnson Wages. She was retired from Tree Topping Inc. in Wenatchee, Wash. She was preceded in death by a son, Clifford Bryant. Survivors include a daughter, Myra Ahrens of Colcord, Okla.; three brothers, Wayne Wages of East Wenatchee, Wash., Jerry Wages of Witter and Fred Wages of Farmington; two grandchildren; five sisters, Mildred Mounce, Sharon Franklin and Jeanetta Culver, all of Springdale, Shirley Mannon of Huntsville and Loretta Crail of Wenatchee, Wash.; and two grandchildren. Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. Thursday at Memorial Funeral Home in Springdale. Dean Aaron Bittner, 49, of Gentry died Sunday, June 29, 2008, at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale. He was born Nov. 5, 1958, in Painsville, Ohio, to George and Betty Hostrander Bittner. He retired from the U. S. Air Force in 1998. He was a Methodist. Survivors include his wife, Donna of the home; two brothers, Grant Bittner of Painsville, Ohio, and Marc Bittner of Madison, Ohio; and his mother, Betty Bittner of Painsville, Ohio. Bobby Joe "Bob"Mullinax Sr., 63, of Lowell died Sunday, June 29, 2008, at Northwest Medical Center in Springdale. He was born Dec. 2, 1944, in Little Rock to Elbert Harold and Ozella Gertrude Puckett Mullinax. He was a retired salesman for H. D. Supply Co. in Tontitown since 1990. Survivors include three sons, Bobby J. Mullinax Jr. of Seattle, Chandler "Chad "King Mullinax I of Charleston and Michael Cody Mullinax of Huntsville; three daughters, Ariel Michelle Mullinax of Huntsville, Tasha Hankins of Fayetteville and Kari Riggins of Tontitown; two brothers, Bill Mullinax of Little Rock and Calvin Ray Mullinax of Tulsa, Okla.; and four grandchildren. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. today at Sisco Funeral Chapel of Springdale. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Friendship Cemetery with the Rev. Tom Mitchell officiating.

Hannibal, Mo.

Mary Helen Houck Secker, 97, of Hannibal, Mo., died June 20, 2008, at Beth Haven Nursing Home. She was born Oct. 11, 1910, in Hannibal, Mo., to Harry and Mary Miller Houck. She was a lifelong member of Fifth Street Baptist Church, a 50-year member of the Hannibal Women's Club, a member of the Julia Drescher Circle of King's in Watonga, Okla., to William Vernon Carr and Etta Lucille Frans Carr. He was a welder and furniture mover. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and a member of the American Legion and Disabled American Veterans. He was a Baptist. Survivors include a son, Terry Carr of Siloam Springs; two sisters, Karen Glenn of Colcord, Okla., and Marilyn McCratic of Siloam Springs; five grandchildren and a great-grandchild. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at Wasson Funeral Home in Siloam Springs. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Larry Ellis officiating. Darrel Keith Jones, 66, of Lawrenceburg, Tenn., died Friday, June 27, 2008. He was born March 10, 1942, in Siloam Springs to Earnest Jones and Goldie Jones Mitchell. He was a retired minister and a member of the Christ Temple Church in West Siloam Springs, Okla. Survivors include two sons, Keith Jones of Colcord, Okla., and Avery Jones of Sapulpa, Okla.; three daughters, Cleava Dickey of Lawrenceburg, Tenn., Vernell Wadlow of Jay, Okla., and Jeannie Hagens of Colcord, Okla.; two brothers, Kenneth Wayne Jones of Highfill and Harold Jay Jones of Westville, Okla.; a sister, Yvonne Howard of Gentry; 16 grandchildren; and six greatgrandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. today at Wasson Funeral Home in Siloam Springs with Brother Luke Church officiating. Burial will be at Highfill Cemetery. Sioux City, Iowa

Helen L. Hebron, 91, of Sioux City, Iowa, died Saturday, June 28, 2008, at a Sioux City hospital. Among her survivors are Marsha L. Melnichak of Farmington and Marilyn Soukup of Fayetteville. Daughters and a longtime supporter of Hannibal-LaGrange College. She was preceded in death by her husband, Girard Bacon Secker. Survivors include three children, Girard H. Secker of Hannibal, Mo., James "Jim"B. Secker of Rogers and Susan Secker Palmieri of Sedona, Ariz.; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. A funeral service was held June 23 at Fifth Street Baptist Church with Dr. Woodrow Burt officiating. Burial was at Mount Olivet Cemetery.
