Fayetteville

Donald A. Downey, 84, of Fayetteville died Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2006, at Washington Regional Medical Center. Arrangements will be announced by Moore's Chapel.

William E. "Bill"Guthrie, 69, of Fayetteville passed away Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2005, in Fayetteville.

He was born April 4, 1936, in Marvel, Ark., to Walter Edward and Willie Mae Layman Guthrie.

He was retired from McDonnell Douglass Aircraft after 32 years working as an electrical engineer. He was a 1962 graduate of the University of Arkansas with a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering. He was a member of Central United Methodist Church in Fayetteville. From 1955 to 1958 he served as a tail gunner on a B-52 in the U.S. Air Force and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict.

He is survived by his wife, Beatrice "Bea"Guthrie; two sons, Dr. Patrick Guthrie and his wife, Kathy, of Fayetteville, and Walter Guthrie of Oklahoma City; one daughter, Barbara Freudiger and her husband, the Rev. Bob Freudiger, of Marion; two sisters, Ann Beard and her husband, Gene, of Newville, Pa., and Linda Johnson and her husband, Keith, of Lansing, Ill.; one brother, Rodney Guthrie and his wife, Anna, of Wappapello, Mo.; five grandchildren, Rachel Freudiger, Rebekah Freudiger, his only grandson, Daniel Freudiger of Marion, and Maggie Guthrie and Mary Guthrie, both of Fayetteville. John William "Bill"Murphy, 81, of Fayetteville died Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2006, at Washington Regional Medical Center. Arrangements will be announced by Moore's Chapel. Springdale LORRAINE MOORE Lorraine Moore, 90, of Springdale passed away Thursday, Jan. 26, 2006, at Northwest Medical Center in Springdale.

She was born June 18, 1915, in Kingston, the daughter of Bert Cleveland and Anna Stansell Boatright. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Springdale. Lorraine worked at SWEPCO for 35 years and retired as office manager. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi and a volunteer at the Arts Center of the Ozarks, the Shiloh Museum, the Springdale hospital and the Jones Center for Families.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wyatt Moore, who was lost at sea during World War II; her father and mother; one brother, Bruce Boatright; and one son-inlaw, Darrell Williams.

Survivors include two daughters, Virginia Williams of Lonsdale and Susan Rieff and her husband, Jim, of Prairie Grove; four granddaughters, Darrellyn Williams, Jamie Williams, Leslie Fitzgerald and her husband, Pat, and Barbara "Boo"Edmiston and her husband, Steve; four great-grandchildren, Parker and Kennedy Fitzgerald and Alex and Cole Edmiston; three nieces and one nephew who she had legal guardianship of, Marcia Imbeau, Neva Joe Boatright, Lana Boatright and David Boatright and his wife, Karen; and three great-nephews and one great-niece, Aaron and Anna Imbeau and Cameron and Brandon Boatright.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church in Springdale with the Rev. Britt Skarda officiating. Burial will be in Prairie Grove Cemetery.

Prairie Grove

Rosel A. Tempelmeyer, 74, of Prairie Grove died Monday, Jan. 30, 2006, in Fayetteville. She was born Dec. 14, 1931, at Wiesbaden, Germany, to Fritz and Rosalie Weimer Scheib. She moved to Prairie Grove around 1972 after retiring from Oscar Meyer Co. in Iowa. After settling in Prairie Grove, she worked in real estate and farming and acquired a kennel license, raising special breeds of dogs she showed all over the nation. She was a member of the Arkansas Fiddlers Association and St. Nicholas Antiochian Orthodox Christian Church of Springdale.

Survivors include one son, Daniel Fritz Greenlee of Davenport, Iowa; one daughter, Rosel Lee "Sue"Clark of Prairie Grove; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel in Prairie Grove with John Atchison of St. Nicholas Antiochian Orthodox Christian Church of Springdale officiating.

West Fork

Mary Elizabeth Elam, 72, of West Fork died Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2006, in Fayetteville.

She was born June 15, 1933, in West Fork to William McKinley Arnold and Ollie Molene Osborne Arnold. She was a member of Center Street Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Clinton Elam; Elam two sons, Anthony Lloyd Elam, M. D., and David McKinley Elam; two brothers; and one sister.

She is survived by a daughter, Glenda Susanne Ingram of Fayetteville; a daughterin-law, Debra Elam of West Fork; two grandsons, David Clinton Dale Elam and Aaron Anthony Elam, both of West Fork; one granddaughter, Lauran Elizabeth Elam of Fayetteville; one great-granddaughter, Juliana Amelie William of Fayetteville; two sisters, Bea Vernor of West Fork and Wiladean Osburn of Fayetteville; and a half-sister, Martha Taylor of Russellville.

Mary was a devoted mother and grandmother, a gifted painter and an avid gardner. She loved to cook for anyone who would eat, and enjoyed water skiing in her younger days. She loved her children, grandchildren and her church. She saw the good in everyone.

Come celebrate Mary's life at 2 p.m. Friday at Center Street Church of Christ. Burial will follow at Baptist Ford Cemetery under the direction of Moore's Chapel with Jack English officiating.

Pallbearers will be Gerald Ward, John Arnold, Chad VanLandingham, Ryan Lerz, Mark Edwards and Dusten Vernor. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. today at Moore's Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the David Elam and Mary Elam Memorial Gambia Fund, P. O. Box 1022, Fayetteville, AR 72702.

Bentonville

Anna Marie Hamlett, 95, of Bentonville died Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2006, at a local nursing home.

Arrangements will be announced by Stockdale Funeral Services of Rogers.

Rogers

J. C. "Nick"Nickell, 76, of Rogers died Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2006, at his home.

He was born Dec. 27, 1929, in Hazel Valley to Jepthy Curtis and Bevia Coleman Nickell.

He was the retired owner and operator of Nick's Service Center in Fayetteville. He loved to travel, site-see and go on cruises and was a nature lover. He was a member of Lakeside Baptist Church in Rogers. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps.

He was preceded in death by four brothers, Joyce, Buron, Dwight and Zill Nickell; and four sisters, China Nickell, Lois Riggins, Effie Friends and Buena Nickell.

He is survived by his wife, Alma Nickell; two daughters, Cindy Turley and her husband, David, of Rogers and Karen Snow and her husband, Marty, of Strang, Okla.; and three grandchildren, Jesse Snow, Jordan Turley and Sara Turley. Services will be at 1 p.m. today at Lakeside Baptist Church in Rogers with the Rev. Scott Hall officiating. Burial will be in Nickell Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Lakeside Baptist Church, 15891 E. Highway 12, Rogers, AR 72756.

Keith "K. C."Wright, 81, of Rogers died Monday, Jan. 30, 2006, at a local health care facility. He was born July 16, 1924, in Fairfax, Minn., to Ervin Wright and Lucretia Caver Wright. He moved to Northwest Arkansas in 1984 from California, where he was in the commercial and residential construction business. He built custom homes in Bella Vista, raised cattle, was a member of the Elks and Lions clubs and was a publisher of a novel written in 2001 entitled "The LeBlanc Files."He was the former state commander of the U.S. Submarine Veterans of World War II and was instrumental in getting the submarine USS Razorback permanently moored in North Little Rock. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy at the age of 17, volunteering to be a submariner.

Survivors include two sons, Patrick Junker of Corona, Calif., and Ronald Junker of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho; four daughters, Pam Sakamoto of Montebelo, Calif., Kimberly Fenton of Tehachapi, Calif., Nancy Lambert of Gallup, N. M., and Tina Webb of San Francisco; one sister, Joan Wilson of Barstow, Calif.; and eight grandchildren.

Cremation is by Stockdale Funeral Services of Rogers. No services are currently planned.

Wesley

Minnie M. Garrett, 87, of Wesley died Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2006, at Northwest Medical Center of Washington County in Springdale.

She was born Aug. 16, 1918, in Japton to William Martin and Columbia Luellen Drain Eubanks. She was a member of Duncan Church of Christ and a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Loyce Garrett.

She is survived by three sons, Delmer Garrett of Vancouver, Wash., Bill Garrett of Fullerton, Calif., and Austin Garrett of Huntsville; a brother, Jake Eubanks of Japton; two sisters, Nova Duncan of Wesley and Elise Samuels of Farmington; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Brashears Funeral Chapel.

Pallbearers will be Don Cornelison, Gerald Cornelison, Chris Garrett, Jess Boyd, Jerry Peoples and Harold Cornelison.

West Siloam Springs, Okla.

Myra Mae Morris, 98, of West Siloam Springs, Okla., formerly of Gentry, died Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2006, at Quail Ridge Living Center in West Siloam Springs. She was born Nov. 25, 1907, in Point Rock, Texas, to Fletcher Cape and Cumi Jones Cape. She worked many jobs and worked as a homemaker. She was preceded in death by three husbands, Ray Mosley, Lenny Stevens and Earl Morris.

Survivors include one daughter, Nadine King of Gentry; five grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 36 greatgreat-grandchildren; several great-great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Jessie Nell Smith of Artesia, N. M.

Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. today at Wasson Funeral Home in Siloam Springs.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Gentry Cemetery in Gentry with Keith Harper officiating.
