FHS to hold festivities today before Homecoming game

The Fayetteville High School Homecoming Parade will begin at 3 p.m. today from the high school parking lot by Harmon Field.

Upon leaving the campus, parade participants are scheduled to travel down Center Street through downtown Fayetteville, ending at the Square, Assistant Superintendent Dick Johnson said.

Once the parade has marched through the Square, a pep rally will be held on the south side by the Fayetteville Town Center.

Dur ing the pep rally, Mayor Dan Coody is expected to issue a proclamation honoring the FHS Band and its selection to attend the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City, Band booster Linda Scogin said.

Band members are in the process of raising money to attend the trip next month.

The pep rally will be held in advance of the Homecoming football game against Fort Smith Northside. The game starts at approximately 7: 30 p.m.

A pregame coronation for the Homecoming Court will be held at 7 p.m. prior to the game at Harmon Field. Members of the court are Third Maid Johnna Watson, Second Maid Lexy Keaton, First Maid Clancy Jones, Maid of Honor Sarah Brady and Queen Alex Canfield.
