$ 70, 800 given to Center for Children An anonymous donor from Northwest Arkansas donated $ 70, 800 to the Arkansas Children's Hospital Foundation. The funding was designated for two projects at the Center for Children in Lowell: the purchase of a new EEG machine and any renovation related to installation and a Northwest Arkansas subspecialty fund to assist in bringing new clinics to the Center for Children. The EEG machine will be used to detect abnormal patterns in the brain's electrical activity. Operation of the machine will commence when new pediatric neurology services begin at the center in July.

President of the foundation, John Bel, stated," We are grateful for the generous support of this anonymous donor family and their vision to see pediatric subspecialty services expand in the fastest growing part of Arkansas. This is truly a wonderful gift and a great way to welcome pediatric neurology services and other future subspecialties closer to home for patients and families in Northwest Arkansas."

The Center for Children in Lowell is the latest addition to a network of 24 existing Arkansas pediatric clinics that are part of a working collaboration between Arkansas Children's Hospital and the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences Department of Pediatrics. Seventeen specialty pediatric clinics are available to children in Northwest Arkansas through the Center.
