FHS FAST-PITCH ACADEMY • The Fayetteville High School softball team is sponsoring a summer fast-pitch academy and a fall fast-pitch league for athletes ages 9-14. The academy is a series of clinics on the basics of fastpitch as taught by FHS head coach Jason Shirey and the LadyDawg players during July. Players will learn the fundamentals of hitting, defense, pitching and base running that prepares them for the Lady-Dawg fast-pitch fall league. There also will be opportunities for coaches and wouldbe coaches to learn teaching methods and strategies for the game. Players can come to all sessions or a few sessions - whatever fits their schedule.
