Posted on Wednesday, November 19, 2008
The Fayetteville Parks and Recreation Division will hold a public pavilion dedication ceremony 2 p.m. Thursday at the Gary Hampton Softball Complex New Pavilion.
The dedication ceremony will honor the Rotary Club of Fayetteville, which contributed $15,000 toward the construction of the 24-foot pavilion.
The complex is located on Salem Road directly south of Holcomb Elementary School. Refreshments will be served. The event is free and open to the public.
The pavilion will be used for youth and adult softball league play and tournaments, as well as a trail head for the Clabber Creek Trail.
The Rotary Club of Fayetteville has committed $10,000 from the proceeds of their 2008 and 2009 FayRo Charity Classic Softball Tournaments for construction of shade and protection covers for the eight bleachers at Gary Hampton Park.
The Rotary Club has also donated scoreboards and benches for use in Fayetteville Parks and Recreation softball facilities.
