Posted on Wednesday, November 12, 2008
As the United Way of Northwest Arkansas heads into the final month of its official campaign period, the organization will promote the new message of “ Live United ” until Nov. 21.
As part of the Live United Weeks, the United Way will serve chili from 11: 30 a. m. to 2 p. m. Friday as it hosts a Live United Rally in the parking lot of the John Q. Hammons Convention Center in Rogers.
Dana Sargent of Fox 24 will emcee the rally where Rogers Mayor Steve Womack will read a proclamation at noon declaring Nov. 14 Live United Day. United Way will also recognize several outstanding companies for their performance in the campaign so far and announce how much has been raised to date.
The public is invited to attend this event, but United Way asks that attendees please RSVP to its office toll free at 877-750-1221 or at info @ unitedwaynwa. org. If there is rain, the proclamation will be read at noon inside the convention center but the rest of the event will be canceled and not rescheduled.
While the Live United Rally highlights the twoweek blitz, several businesses are also getting involved by participating in percentof-sales nights during this period.
The participating restaurants:
• Jason’s Deli, 745 E. Joyce Blvd. No. 114, Fayetteville — 10 a. m. to 10 p. m. today — Jason’s Deli will donate 10 percent of sales.
• Jose’s Southwest Grille, 5240 W. Sunset, Springdale — 11 a. m. to 10 p. m. Tuesday, Nov. 18 — Jose’s will donate 10 percent of food sales.

United Way encourages people who have earned a Live United shirt through giving, advocating or volunteering to wear their shirts Friday and Nov. 21.
