A Springdale man was arrested Tuesday for allegedly raping his wife while she was sleeping and threatening to kill her when she confronted him about it.

Alfred Aishman, 32, faces felony charges of rape and terroristic threatening. He was in the Washington County Detention Center late Wednesday evening, apparently unable to post a $ 10, 000 bond.

He is accused of having sex with his wife while she was asleep after putting drugs in her drink. He is also accused of being found in bed with an eight-year-old girl Oct. 3.

Aishman and his wife have been having problems and had not had sex for three or four months, according to the police report.

His wife noticed she had been waking up very sore and much more tired than usual. This happened most recently on Oct. 5. When confronted by his wife, Aishman denied having sex with her while she was asleep, according to the report.

On Oct. 6, Aishman told a neighbor that he had been giving his wife two sleeping pills and one Tegretol in her drink when she goes to bed so she would not wake up during sex, according to the police report. Tegretol is in a group of drugs called anticonvulsants. It works by decreasing nerve impulses that cause seizures and pain.

When the neighbor told the wife and she confronted her husband, he got aggressive and threatened to kill her and take the kids, according to the report.
