A Prairie Grove man is behind bars for allegedly raping a young boy.
Jonathan Rowe, 19, faces at least one felony charge of rape.
Washington County Sheriff's deputies and Prairie Grove police responded to an area school Wednesday in response to a reported rape that occurred in western Washington County. The victim, a 12-year-old boy, told officers he had been sexually assaulted by Rowe on Aug. 10.
Rowe was taken into police custody Thursday.
Members of the Arkansas Department of Human Services removed seven children from the suspect's home and took them into protective custody.
"The investigation is ongoing," Kelly Cantrell, spokesman for the Washington County Sheriff's Office, said. "Additional arrests or charges could be made. We may be releasing more information as the investigation continues."
Rowe was being held in the Washington County Detention Center on a $ 25, 000 bond Friday evening. He is expected to make his first appearance in the Washington County Circuit Court on Monday.
