Red Cross, Wal-Mart to sponsor 9/11 talk

The Northwest Arkansas Red Cross and Wal-Mart Stores Inc. will commemorate 9 / 11 with an evening presentation on “ Disaster Preparedness, Lessons learned from Hurricane Katrina” given by Gen. Russel Honore.
The event will be held from 6-7: 30 p. m. Sept. 11 at the Holiday Inn Convention Center in Springdale. In lieu of ticket sales, Honore and the American Red Cross have requested that donations be made to the local disaster relief fund. A suggested donation of at least $ 20 will stay in Northwest Arkansas to help victims of house fires, storms and other local disasters. Complimentar y disaster and emergency planning packets will be available for all who attend.
Retired from active duty in the U. S. Army National Guard, Honore is a decorated veteran whose new mission is to “ create a culture of preparedness” throughout the general public.
