Man charged with domestic battery

Ryecus Cranall Ward, 28, of Fayetteville was charged Nov. 1 by the Washington County Prosecutor’s Office with thirddegree domestic battery, robbery and furnishing prohibited articles. He is accused of slapping his live-in girlfriend in the face on Sept. 29, leaving marks, when she was three months pregnant. He also is accused of threatening her and taking $ 80 to $ 100 from her on Sept. 29.

In addition, he allegedly took a Valium pill into the Washington County Detention Center on Sept. 29. He was arrested by Fayetteville police. Springdale man pleads guilty to escape charge

Shawn Joseph Isles, 24, of Springdale pleaded guilty Nov. 2 in Washington County Circuit Court to accomplice to second-degree escape for pushing a cart containing another Washington County Detention Center inmate, Alvin Travis McCullough, 22, of Fayetteville, who had been convicted of residential burglary and attempted residential burglary in May and faces a rape charge. McCullough escaped from the detention center on July 17.

Isles was sentenced to 8 1 / 2 years in the Arkansas Department of Correction with 2 1 / 2 years suspended, leaving six to serve.

Isles had been awaiting transfer to the Arkansas Department of Correction at the time he helped McCullough escape. Isles was convicted of domestic battery and was to serve two years in prison.
