Woman accused of stealing controlled substances by fraud
Kimberly Diane Bell, 35, was charged Oct. 26 by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office with acquiring a controlled substance by fraud, accused of stealing various narcotics from Northwest Medical Center in Springdale in August for her own use.
Among the narcotics stolen were Oxycodone, Vicodin, Hydromorphone and Meprozine. She was arrested by Springdale police. She has since been terminated from employment at the hospital, where she served as a nurse, said Washington County Deputy Prosecutor David Bercaw. Canehill man accused of sexual assault
Eric Shawn Pergeson, 35, Canehill, was charged Oct. 26 by the 4 th Judicial District Prosecutor’s Office with two counts of first-degree sexual assault, accused of having sexual relations with a 15-year-old girl when he was the caretaker and in a position of trust, from June 6, 2006, to June 7 this year. Pergeson was arrested by the Prairie Grove Police Department. Woman accused of embezzling money from fund for old fire truck
Pamela Sue Biazo, 44, was charged Oct. 26 by the Washington County Prosecutor’s Office with theft of property, accused of stealing $ 3, 200 from a nonprofit funds account by withdrawing money from the fund’s bank account and depositing it into her account between February and March.
The fund was one set up by Springdale firefighters to restore an old fire truck, said Deputy Prosecutor David Bercaw, who added that the defendant’s husband, who is still working at the department, had once been a signatory on the fund’s account. He was not a signatory at the time she is alleged to have obtained access to the money, Bercaw said, but his name was still on it. Fayetteville man pleads innocent to domestic battery
David Christopher Wales, 28, Fayetteville, pleaded innocent Oct. 22 in Washington County Circuit Court to third-degree domestic battery. He is accused of hitting his pregnant girlfriend on Sept. 19, causing her to bleed and causing red marks. He was arrested by Fayetteville police.
He is being held in the Washington County Detention Center on $ 5, 000 bond. His trial is set for Dec. 17. Man pleads innocent to fleeing
Wesley Matthew Smith, 21, pleaded innocent Oct. 17 in Washington County Circuit Court to fleeing, accused of driving erratically at rates of speed “ far exceeding posted limits” while trying to evade police on Sept. 19. He is also accused of forcing another car into a ditch. He was arrested by West Fork police.
Smith has been release from the Washington County Detention Center on $ 3, 500 bond. His trial is set for Dec. 18.
