Only one vote remains before crews start harvesting bricks from downtown Rogers’ intersections and installing stamped concrete.
A contract vote awaits the Rogers City Council during Tuesday’s meeting. If approved, the ordinance awards Rogers-based Midland Construction the job for $1.167 million.
Planning and Transportation Director Steve Glass said there were no changes to the plan, calling for stamped concrete in the intersections and crosswalks, since the September public hearing. The bricks from the intersections would be recycled into the remainder of the downtownstreets, hopefully prolonging the brick roadways along the storefronts. Sidewalk and landscape improvements are also included in the plan.
Main Street Rogers President Kerry Jensen said it is imperative that the downtown not remain stagnant.
