FAYETTEVILLE Officials with Seven Hills Homeless Center in Fayetteville say they’ve seen an increase in the number of Northwest Arkansas veterans facing homelessness who are in immediate need of help.
Seven Hills served 1,212 unique men, women and children from Jan. 1 to Oct. 20, with about 30 percent of daily visits to the organization’s day center being veterans. Veterans made 3,242 visits to the center from January to September, according to Seven Hills officials.
The organization requests donations of sleeping bags, backpacks, gloves, tarps, rain gear, men’s blue jeansbetween sizes 28 and 32 and men’s small and medium underwear. Canned goods with pop-top lids such as Spam, tuna, Vienna sausages, stews and fruit are also critically needed.
Donations can be dropped o◊at Seven Hills Day Center, 1555 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., or at any Fayetteville Arvest Bank location.
Contributions of money can be made online at www.sevenhillscenter.org, at the Day Center or mailed to P.O. Box 474, Fayetteville, AR 72702.
