Lady Golden Eagles shutout Science and Arts of Oklahoma, 1-0

The game looked headed to overtime Wednesday afternoon, but in the end, the John Brown University women’s soccer team managed to score late in the match to net a 1-0 shutout over Sooner Athletic Conference foe Science and Arts of Oklahoma.
It was junior Mikey Brannan’s goal in the 87 th minute via a deep cross from sophomore Camille Malkiewicz that gave the ladies the win to move them to 2-0 in conference.
Although the score was deadlocked for almost the entire game, JBU maintained control of possession for the match.
“ It was obvious we were in control, ” said JBU head coach Joe Thoma. “ We just had to relax and play. When we don’t we make it harder. ”
As a team, the Lady Golden Eagles outshot USAO (3-3-2 ), 20-8 with a 7-2 shot on goal differential.
Senior goalkeeper Megan Rouse picked up two saves in the win.
