Lady Golden Eagles shutout Science and Arts of Oklahoma, 1-0

The game looked headed to overtime Wednesday afternoon, but in the end, the John Brown University women's soccer team managed to score late in the match to net a 1-0 shutout over Sooner Athletic Conference foe Science and Arts of Oklahoma.

It was junior Mikey Brannan's goal in the 87 th minute via a deep cross from sophomore Camille Malkiewicz that gave the ladies the win to move them to 2-0 in conference.

Although the score was deadlocked for almost the entire game, JBU maintained control of possession for the match.

"It was obvious we were in control," said JBU head coach Joe Thoma. "We just had to relax and play. When we don't we make it harder. "

As a team, the Lady Golden Eagles outshot USAO (3-3-2 ), 20-8 with a 7-2 shot on goal differential.

Senior goalkeeper Megan Rouse picked up two saves in the win.
