Lady Panthers place third in 4-State Challenge

FAYETTEVILLE — The Siloam Springs Lady Panthers placed third two weeks ago in the 4-State Challenge Tournament held at Barnhill Arena on the University of Arkansas campus.
Siloam Springs notched victories over Olathe, Kan., Eureka, Mo., and Fayetteville, before falling to Washburn, Kan.
In the Olathe match, the Lady Panthers won, 25-19, 25-17.
• Hannah Allison led the Lady Panthers with eight kills, while Lizzy Briones and Staci Williamson added six each. Courtney Marshall followed with four kills and Maci Lewis had three. Allison and Laken Grigg combined for 29 assists, while Alesha Mitchell and Williamson tallied 11 digs each.
In the Eureka match, the Lady Panthers rallied to win, 17-25, 25-22, 19-17.
• Allison finished with nine kills and Briones had seven to lead the Lady Panthers ’ offense.
In the Fayetteville match, the Lady Panthers once rallied to win, 25-23, 22-25, 15-11.
• Briones tallied 13 kills and Allison finished with 12 to lead the Lady Panthers.
Against Washburn in the semifinals, the Lady Panthers lost, 25-23, 17-25, 8-15.
• Briones and Allison had eight kills each.
