Pagnozzi Charity golf tourney approaching

FAYETTEVILLE — Pagnozzi Charities is just a few weeks away from its largest fundraiser.

The 17 th Annual Tom Pagnozzi Charity Golf Tournament, Banquet and Sports Memorabilia Auction will be held Oct. 16-18 at the Fayetteville Country Club.

The proceeds from this fundraiser support the Pagnozzi Youth Sports Scholarship Fund.

Over 275 golfers are already scheduled to hit the links when the event kicks off Oct. 16 with a four-person scramble. Morning and afternoon flights will take place on Oct. 17. Golf teams are still available for the afternoon of Oct. 16 and are $ 800 per team or $ 200 per individual.

Shotgun starts will be held at 1 p. m. on Oct. 16 and 8 a. m. and 1 p. m. on Oct. 17. Interested golfers can register online at www. pagnozzicharities. org.

On Oct. 18, the banquet and everso-popular sports memorabilia auction will be held at the Fayetteville Town Club.

Highlighted items this year include Tony Romo, Michael Phelps, Darren McFadden and Felix Jones memorabilia, Major League Baseball MVP items, and a trip for two to Napa Valley.

The doors will open at 6 p. m.

Former Arkansas track and field athlete and world champion Michael Conley, Sr. will be the guest speaker presented by Celebrate Magazine.

Tickets are still available for $ 35, and tables are $ 500 and $ 1, 000. Tickets are being sold for a chance to win $ 1, 000. The proceeds from the drawing will benefit the Pagnozzi Charities Endowment Funds. Tickets are 1 for $ 5, 5 for $ 20 or 30 for $ 100.

To date, Pagnozzi Charities has helped more than 1, 000 underprivileged youth play sports. In 2007, Pagnozzi Charities granted 1, 563 sports scholarships for children which helped pay for equipment purchases, travel expenses, registration and program fees, instructional classes and Razorback game tickets.
