Lady Panthers fall in 5A-West softball

The Siloam Springs Lady Panthers stole a game on the road from the Harrison Lady Goblins and lost one against Greenwood.
Freshman right fielder Maci Lewis scored two runs and blasted a double in the fifth inning to lead the Lady Panthers to a 5-2 victory over Harrison in Game 1 of the 5 A-West doubleheader.
In Game 2, Harrison returned the favor, scoring six runs in the fourth inning to notch a 9-5 victory over the Lady Panthers.
Senior third baseman Jordan Rackleff paced the Siloam offense with a single and a triple, while also scoring one of the Lady Panthers ’ three runs in the fourth inning.
Ashley McIntosh and Sarralyn Pittman also had doubles in the fourth inning for the Lady Panthers.
Siloam led 3-2 going into the bottom half of the fourth inning, when Harrison erupted for six runs to regain the 8-3 lead.
Rackleff’s triple in the seventh scored Meghan Kenney and Lewis, cutting the deficit to 9-5 with one out.
On Monday, Greenwood dropped the Lady Panthers, 3-2.
Greenwood took the 2-0 lead early, before Siloam answered with a run in the fourth inning.
Lewis led off the inning with a double and later on scored on Shelby Briley’s RBI-single.
The Lady Bulldogs ’ extended their lead to 3-1 in the fifth, before Siloam answered again in the seventh.
Leslie Thurman’s RBI-single plated Briley and cut the deficit to 3-2. Greenwood, however, retired Rackleff on a flyout to second base and Lauren Mills popped out to center field to end the game.
The Lady Panthers honored senior third baseman Jordan Rackleff during Tuesday’s final home game against Morrilton.
