Man held on rape charge against juvenile

Siloam Springs man was arrested after he admitted to raping a girl last week.
Oscar Armando Cortez, 37, of 201 Glenwood Place, was arrested on a charge of rape July 8, according to a press release from Siloam Springs Police Department.
Cortez admitted to the assault during an interview with detectives.
Siloam Springs Police responded July 8 to Cortez’s residence because a girl was crying and needed assistance.
The girl told police Cortez had just raped her at his home, the release shows.
The age of the alleged victim and the relationship to Cortez are being withheld.
Cortez was transported to Siloam Springs Police Department and interviewed.
Cortez is being held at Benton County Jail on $ 50, 000 bond.
Arraignment is set for Aug. 18 in Benton County Circuit Court, Division I.
