On July 3 rd the Siloam Springs Civitan Club presented the Siloam Springs KidsClub a check for $ 280. This will pay for two weeks of camp. This camp is for children with special needs. The camp is twofold: First, it provides an enriching and fun environment for children who would otherwise spend their summers at home, often without contact with other children; and second, it provides much needed support to working parents who, because of a lack of child care, may be unable to work during the summer months.

The Siloam Springs KidsClub works with the Siloam Springs Boys and Girls Club, providing many opportunities for children with special needs to enjoy activities with kids at the centers. This has proven to be a great learning experience, not only for the campers, but for other children at the center as well.

KidsClub is part of the Arkansas Support Network which receives no state or federal funding for this program. It relies on support from individuals, businesses and civic organizations to make KidsClub happen. Children with special needs are the main focus for the Siloam Springs Civitan Club. Anyone interested in learning more about helping these children may contact Jerry Cavness Civitan’s President at 524-6639.
