Delaware County, Okla., also faces school elections

JAY, Okla. Delaware County voters will cast ballots Tuesday in the 2008 presidential primary, and will also vote in the annual school election.
Polls will be open from 7 a. m. to 7 p. m., said Dixie Smith, secretary of the Delaware County Election Board.
Smith reminded voters to take their voter identification card to the polls with them.
Your voter identification card can help precinct officials find your name in the precinct registry and it may also help them resolve the problem if you are not listed in the precinct registry, said Smith.
Identification will be required for first-time voters said State Election Board Secretary Michael Clingman.
Clingman said that several forms of identification are acceptable, including: a current photo identification; the voter identification card issued by the county election board when the voter registration was approved; a government document that shows the voters name and address; or a copy of a utility bill, bank statement, or paycheck that shows the voters name and address. Voters who want to get through the line quickly should vote mid-morning or mid-afternoon, Smith advised, because those usually are the two slowest periods for voting during the day.
