Trying to understand Generation Gap
Posted on Wednesday, October 8, 2008
There is so much sadness in the present time and in no way do we wish to ignore the fact.
Our deep-felt heart of compassionate concern is with all those who are in need of our thoughts and prayers.
Although the vacuum left from the passing is great, it is a joy to realize there will be a new day of love and joy as our creator has promised to mankind.
Jacob Sargent says that Moseley school is in full force and the 4 th and 5 th grade students are going to publish a paper for the students. I am sure it will be a great learning process.
I personally have found great therapy and joy in writing.
Our schools are doing so many down-to-earth projects as they work with the students and blend the daily teaching process together with the activities.
Every child is to be praised for some accomplishment; the teachers are also to be appreciated and praised for their perseverance and ability to guide the student toward a respectful and responsible way of life, letting them realize the trust that lies upon their shoulders.
Let's not forget to mark the calendar for Nov. 8 at 10: 30 a.m. for the Veteran's Day parade followed by a program at the Community Building in Siloam springs.
This program is for the spouses, children and parents of the veterans. It seems we will have wars and rumors of wars forever with us and they effect most every family in some way.
We hope that our area, when invited, will participate in the parade with our new fire truck.
We are neighbors and count it as a neighborly invitation.
We have really advanced in the last century. Most everyone has the convenience of a computer - that is if you can work one, I can't operate mine, but we used to blame our mistakes on each othernow we blame the computer. I call that advancement.
Here is something to mull over and see if you can get a clear picture.
I've tried, but I finally decided that it must be the generation gap I keep hearing folks talk about.
The other day a girl was standing at the gas pump trying to sell her car.
"Why are you selling her car ? "I asked her.
"For money to buy gas," she replied.
"If you sell your car why do you need gas ?"
"Oh, I'm selling it on the charge card plan - I don't deliver it until it's paid for."
