Community-wide Lenten lunches continue this week
A series of community-wide Lenten Week luncheon services continue today through Friday at the fellowship hall of First United Methodist Church, 325 E. Twin Springs.
All the luncheons begin at noon, followed by a short devotional. Five area churches have participated in the noontime event which is free and open to the public.
Today's lunch and devotional will be provided by First Presbyterian Church.
On Thursday, the Rev. Steve Abbott will speak, and lunch will be provided and served by First Baptist Church.
Friday's lunch will be prepared and served by First United Methodist Church, and the Rev. Michael Sutton will bring the message.
Easter musical Friday at CCF
Community Christian Fellowship will present "A.D. A musical for Easter and Beyond," an evening of music, drama and worship at 7 p.m. Friday. Everyone is welcome to attend. Nursery will be provided. The church is at the corner of East Main and Lincoln streets, 525 S. Lincoln.
FUMC announces Easter events
On Thursday evening First United Methodist Church will host a Holy Thursday Communion at 7 p.m. with the Rev. Larry Dodgen bringing the message. The Handbell Choir will provide the music.
On Friday evening a fellowship supper will be held at 6 p.m., followed by a Good Friday service with the theme "The Sayings from the Cross." The Chancel Choir will sing, and the Rev. Lonnie Nelson will bring the message.
An Easter Sunrise service is planned for April 11 at 6:30 a.m. in the Twin Springs Park gazebo across from the Sager Creek Arts Center with the Rev. Michael Sutton preaching. A fellowship breakfast will follow in the church fellowship hall.
Sunday School at FUMC will begin at 10:15 a.m. and include an Easter Egg hunt for the children. Easter Sunday worship services will be held at 9 a.m. and 11:15 a.m.
Easter sunrise service Sunday
Pastor Billups, the congregation and friends of Countryside Bible Church invite the public to a celebration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Countryside Bible is 3 miles southeast of Colcord, Okla., and the service will begin at 7 a.m. The service will be held outside, weather permitting. Special music will be provided by Jack and Karen Snowden, Jimmie Pierce, Linn Carlson and Aric Potter. Rhonda Hollenback will lead the congregational singing and present an Easter poem. The message, presented by Pastor Vohs, will discuss "Infallible Proofs." After the service a special breakfast and fellowship, free of charge, will be held. Cincinnati UMC Easter weekend services
The Cincinnati United Methodist Church will hold a Good Friday Service at 7 p.m. Friday. On Easter, Sunday school will begin at 10 a.m., followed at 11 a.m. by The Word and You. Pastor Andy Newbill and the congregation invite everyone to attend. The church is on Arkansas Highway 59 South in Cincinnati.
Pioneer Adventist Fellowship presents Family Tradition music
The Pioneer Adventist Fellowship will present Family Tradition in concert at 5 p.m. Saturday. The church is at 108 S. Collins in Gentry, in the old Smith Drug Store. Everyone is welcome.
Cincinnati community Easter sunrise service
Cincinnati United Methodist Church invites all denominations to a Community Easter Sunrise Service, at 7 a.m. April 11 at the new Cincinnati Fire House. Turn east off Arkansas Highway 59 South at the Cincinnati Mall to reach the fire station. Following the service, a free Easter breakfast will be served. Donations will be accepted and will go toward the completion of the firehouse.
Church presents musical Sunday
Trinity Pentecostal Church of God on Arkansas Highway 59 south in Siloam Springs will present "An Easter Musical" Sunday at 6:30 p.m. Everyone is invited. For more information, call the church office at 549-3595.
Holy Week, Easter services to be offered
St. Nicholas Antiochian Orthodox Christian Church begins its Pascha (Easter) celebration with the Versperal Divine Liturgy of St. Basil at 10 a.m. Saturday. The Great and Holy Pascha and Rush Procession begins at 10:30 p.m. Saturday evening, followed by Orthros at 11 p.m. and Divine Liturgy at midnight. Advanced Bible prophecy seminar Saturday
Prophecy Seminars with Charles Wheeling is coming to Siloam Springs, to present an Advanced Seminar in the Prophecies of Daniel and Revelation.
Four seminar sessions will be held Saturday at the Siloam Springs Community Building, 110 Mt. Olive Street.
Special attention will be given to 2,500 year-old visions found in the Old Testament book of Daniel. Charles Wheeling said Daniel's visions actually predicted the recent war in Iraq, and they also predict a soon-coming war with Iran.
The first session, "Jerusalem: Where the end begins and the world ends" will begin at 10 a.m. and continue until noon. The second session, "Almost Armageddon: The ram, the goat and the time of the end," will begin at 2 p.m. and conclude at 4 p.m. "When God Says 'Amen!'A judgment hour warning" will last one hour, beginning at 4:30 p.m. The final session, "Passing Over: Bible prophecy and the numbered days of the end times," will begin at 6:30 p.m. and conclude at 8 p.m.
Prophecy Seminars with Charles Wheeling is unaffiliated and non-sectarian. The public is invited.
Night of praise April 15
A night of praise with Dennis Jernigan will be held at 7 p.m. April 15 at Community Christian Fellowship, 525 S. Lincoln St. Everyone is welcome to attend. A love offering will be taken, and childcare will be provided. For more information call the church office at 524-6705.
