Neosho, MO
Bobby Gene Duncan, 78, of Neosho, MO, died November 27, 2008, at his home. He was born September 28, 1930, in Hiwasse, the son of James and Ellen Jameson Duncan. Mr. Duncan was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a gate guard at Eagle Picher in Joplin for 34 years and a volunteer for the Help Center. He was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda, Jan. 14, 2005. Survivors include four children, Allen “ Elmer ” Duncan and Russell Duncan, both of Neosho, Buddy Ibison of Onalaska, TX, and LaWanna Gillming of Oakhurst, TX; four brothers, Ivan Duncan and Wilburn Duncan, both of Decatur, J. D. Duncan of Blackwell, OK, and Kenny Duncan of Rogers; 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Services were Monday at 2 p. m. at Gospel Lighthouse Church in Neosho with Myrna Marble officiating. Burial was at Gibson Cemetery under direction of Clark Funeral Home, Neosho. Gravette
John L. Goforth, 87, of Gravette, died Friday, Nov. 28, 2008, at Northwest Medical Center in Bentonville. He was born Nov. 15, 1921, in Baxter Springs, KS, the son of John and Effie Bailey Goforth. Survivors include his wife, Vada Taylor Goforth; four sons, Kelly Goforth and wife Beverly of Chelsea, OK, David Goforth and wife Linda and Tim Goforth and wife Donita, all of Zena, OK, and Jim Baker and wife Therese of San Diego, CA; two daughters, Sherry Gibe of Springfield, MO, and Theresa Gillming and husband Mike of Gravette; 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Funeral services were held Tuesday, Dec. 2, at Callison-Lough Funeral Chapel in Gravette. Burial was at Lee Cemetery.
