Kolby Rankin led off with a single. Dustin Torres followed with another hit. Kyle Oliva reached safely to load the bases. Cody Jones then followed with an RBI single ó plating Rankin. Justin Stewart knocked in Torres, and Cody Stewart knocked in Oliva to tie the score at 4-4 before the last out retired the side. The game ended in a tie due to a time limit. Cody Stewart and Kyle Oliva pitched for Gentry ó limiting Decatur to 5 hits. Game two Gentry 10, Decatur 1 Gentry wasted no time, jumping ahead in the first inning with 4 runs. Timely hitting and aggressive base running led the offensive outburst. Kolby Rankin, Cody Jones, Justin Bryant and Dustin Torres all had RBI hits for Gentry. Cody Jones started on the mound for Gentry and then gave way to Jarrod Runyan. The two combined to limit Decatur to just 1 hit ó walking 5.

Defensively, Gentry turned another double play as Runyan teamed with Gunter DeZurik after Runyan took a line drive back to the box and gunned to DeZurik to double the runner off at first. DeZurik nearly pegged the runner at second for a triple play.

ì We are beginning to do the finer things, such as running bases aggressively, situational hitting, run-downs, double cuts and picking the ball much better. î said coach Jerry Jones. ì These young men are committed to change the Gentry paradigm, î Jones added.
