Shopping Trip The Decatur Assembly of God Church will provide van service for those who would like to go grocery shopping. They will be making a trip at 11 a.m. on Aug. 18. For more information, contact Kathy Stephens at 752-8385. Benefit Dinner A benefit dinner for the family of L. D. Smith will be held from 3 to 8 p. m., Aug. 23, at the Decatur Community Center. Chili, frito pie and chicken and dumplings will be served. Dinner will be $ 5 at the door. A pie and cake auction will be held at 6 p.m. FFA Livestock Show The Decatur FFA will be holding a livestock show on Aug. 16 at the Decatur FFA Agri building. Overall champions will be awarded buckles. Steers, heifers, bulls, meat goats and lambs are welcome. Entry fees are $ 20 for cattle and $ 15 for lambs and meat goats. An open house will be held at the elementary school from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, and at the high school from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday. School fund The Decatur Education Foundation is asking alumni and community members to make a contribution to keep Decatur schools open. Donations are tax deductible and can be made in person at the Decatur State Bank or by mail. Checks should be made out to the Decatur Education Foundation and mailed to P. O. Box 38, Decatur, AR 72722. Farmers'market A farmers'market will be held on Fridays, beginning at 7 a. m., and on Saturdays, beginning at 6 p. m., in Veterans Park.
