Tiny Tot Contest applications taken

DECATUR ó Applications for the 55 th Annual Decatur Barbecue Tiny Tot Contest are being accepted until July 18.
Although plans for the barbecue are on hold until more information about the sale of Peterson Farms is released, Tiny Tot Contest organizers are moving forward with their preparations.
The contest will be held for boys and girls between the ages of four and six. Contestants are asked to wear summer clothing for the pageant ó no suits or heavy dresses.
Participants will ride on a tiny-tot float in the parade, and parents are asked to have children at Decaturís old city park no later than 2: 25 p. m., Aug. 1, for the parade lineup. Cool clothing is also recommended for the parade.
The entry fee for the contest is $ 20. It will be refunded if the Barbecue is not held this year. Applications must include a copy of the childís birth certificate or birth record and a walletsize picture for the newspaper.
