Friday, Aug. 29 • 9: 53 a. m. Domino’s Pizza alarm sounded, a worker came in to open and did not know the code. • 10: 09 a. m. A pontoon boat was floating loose in the area of Pinion Valley Drive. The owner was notified and he met officers to pick up the boat. • 10: 20 a. m. An eviction notice was served on a Cottage Lane resident. • 10: 50 a. m. A golden Lab with an "E lvis Presley" tag was dropped off at the Bella Vista Animal Shelter. The dog will be held and the owner given a citation by animal control. • 11: 20 a. m. A Teresa Lane resident reported a pit bull on the front porch. They are afraid to go outside and claim they are being ‘ held hostage ’ by this dog. The dog is a possible pit bull and Rottweiler mix, brown and white brindle color, very old. • 11: 20 a. m. Lauryn Walker turned herself in at the police station on a failure to appear warrant. She was processed and released on a citation. • 11: 37 a. m. A big, black Lab was reported on Hatcher Drive - it was getting trash all over the place. • 12: 26 p. m. A sick raccoon on Lockerbie Drive was reported laying in a ditch. • 3: 08 p. m. Arkansas Highway Patrol stopped a man who was wanted in Bella Vista on a failure to appear warrant. Philip Cunningham, 36, was arrested and booked into the Benton County Jail. • 3: 29 p. m. Two stray dogs were removed from Hilltop Drive and taken to the Bella Vista Animal Shelter. • 4: 04 a. m. A neighbor at Harlow Drive complained of loud music; a citation for violation of the noise ordinance was given. • 4: 33 p. m. An aggressive German shepherd was reported running loose on Bolton Lane. The owner was cited for having a dog at large. • 8: 07 p. m. A caller advised police he did not realize Papa Mike’s was closed and when he pulled on the door, it opened. The door latch was sticking out and would not allow the door to close. He was asked to wait until an officer arrived and call if anyone attempted to enter the restaurant. An employee arrived and took care of the situation. Saturday, Aug. 30 • 12: 05 a. m. A dark-colored sports utility vehicle was involved in a one-vehicle accident at Leicester and Bosworth. A group of kids emerged, piled into a brown or silver Lexus with Kansas tags, and left. The caller had asked if he could help them and then followed them down to the highway; he said they appeared intoxicated. • 9: 52 a. m. A raccoon was stumbling around on Elizabeth Drive acting strangely. The raccoon was ill and disposed of. • 11: 27 a. m. A caller from the animal shelter reported a person was trying to pick up a dog that was being held for citation. The owner received a citation for a dog at large. • 12: 47 p. m. A sick raccoon across from the Dairy Queen was removed and disposed of. • 1: 32 a. m. A landlord on Evesham Lane called to report that tenants were moving and taking appliances that belong in the residence. An officer checked; the appliances appear to still be in the residence. The landlord will stay on scene to meet with the tenants and will call back if there are any problems. • 5: 43 p. m. All-terrain vehicles were reported on Kingsland Road in front of St. Theodore’s Episcopal Church. • 6: 32 p. m. Two mothers and their children were playing by the creek by Pinion Valley Falls. • 7: 30 p. m. Kids were seen riding small motorcycles on the Country Club golf course. • 10: 02 p. m. Four or five ATV’s were reported on Devonshire. Sunday, Aug. 31 • 12: 07 a. m. Caller advised there was a loud party going on near Formby Lane. • 1: 25 a. m. Harlow Drive residents were reported to be having a loud party, officers advised them of the noise ordinance and they turned their music down. • 1: 45 a. m. Approximately four 4-wheelers, with drivers appearing to be intoxicated, were driving up and down Sandridge, Baker and Howland. They were whooping and hollering while driving up and down. • 3: 52 a. m. A caller’s mother saw someone in her house on Wimbleton Way. The person ran off when she confronted him. The mother advised a white male was not in her house, but was outside crouched down by the stairs. She shined a flashlight at him and asked what he was doing, then he ran off through the back yard. • 7: 07 a. m. Two Bella Vista misdemeanor warrants were served at the Benton County Jail. • 11: 27 a. m. There was an altercation between two residents of Concordia. Neither received extensive injuries. • 1: 04 p. m. One ATV in the roadway. Officer spoke to rider, who had recently moved to area, and did not know they were not allowed on roadway. • 4: 31 p. m. Rider of an ATV, across from old Fire Station No. 2, was advised to take his 4-wheeler home and not drive it in the roadway anymore. • 5: 04 p. m. A citation was given to Elizabeth Finnestead, 18, for failure to stop at a stop sign at Cooper Road and Route 279. Monday, Sept. 1 • 6: 11 a. m. A citation was given to John Ritke, 38, for speeding 70 mph in a 55-mph zone on U. S. 71, north of Wellington Road. • 8: 36 a. m. A caller reported that a raccoon at the back door of 60 Sugar Creek Center will not let their supplier in. Officer reported the raccoon did not seem aggressive. • 9: 03 a. m. A general burglary alarm went off at Guasano’s Pizza at Cunningham Corner. It was set off by a delivery person. • 9: 09 a. m. A raccoon at Cummings Lane was relocated. • 9: 11 a. m. A brown Yorkie was removed from Ettington Drive and taken to the Bella Vista Animal Shelter. • 9: 47 a. m. A tan pit bull inside a fenced-in yard on Basore Drive was removed and taken to the Bella Vista Animal Shelter. • 10: 09 a. m. North of U. S. 71 and County Road 40, reckless motorcycles were reported traveling together. • 10: 53 a. m. A woman reported, at the Bella Vista Police Department, that a recreational vehicle parked at the Bella Vista RV storage was broken into. • 11: 45 a. m. Caller was moving into a residence on Cowgur Lane and noticed a white powder in the road in front of the house. He wanted it checked out. Officers advised it was lime to keep down the oil in front of his driveway, put there by another resident. He was advised to contact the Street Department to get rid of any oil. • 8: 05 p. m. A suburban was reported on the gravel bar on Trafalgar Road and U. S. 71. The driver received a warning and moved the vehicle. • 9: 30 p. m. John Ritke, 28, was given a speeding citation on U. S. 71. Tuesday, Sept. 2 • 12: 43 a. m. Debra Robertson, 48, was cited for speeding 72 mph in a 55-mph zone on U. S. 71 near Wellington. • 1: 27 a. m. Larry Johnson, 48, was cited for speeding 62 mph in a 45-mph zone on U. S. 71 south of Dartmoor Road. • 5: 37 a. m. A woman on Tanyard Lane reported her husband, who has dementia, was missing. The woman called later to report he was back home. • 10: 50 a. m. The animal control officer was helping a person catch an injured cat, but he later discovered the cat wasn’t injured. • 11: 01 a. m. Fernando Olguin, 49, was cited for speeding 46 mph in a 30-mph zone at Hampstead Road and Ponton. • 11: 29 a. m. Tracy Merrill, 21, was cited for speeding 50 mph in a 30-mph zone at Hampstead Road and Winters Lane. • 1: 17 p. m. A black Lab and pointer mix on Boston Lane was taken to the Bella Vista Animal Shelter. • 1: 24 p. m. A woman stopped at the Police Department to report she was followed on three different days from her residence to Bentonville. The investigating officer found the woman was behind on her rent payments, so her landlord was following her. The officer advised the landlord t take the issue to civil court. • 1: 52 p. m. Undisclosed items were stolen from a recreational vehicle while it was parked on Kincardine, or while it was in a repair shop. • 2: 58 p. m. A person reported child abuse. The case is being investigated. • 3: 18 p. m.. There was an acci dent at Arkansas Highway 279 and Sherlock Drive. An officer listed two citations, but the information about them wasn’t available at press time. • 10: 54 p. m. A caller heard what sounds like a dog fight on Formby Lane. Wednesday, Sept. 3 • 12: 19 a. m. An ice machine was open at Grand Central Station. • 10: 47 a. m. Two dogs were in a pen flooded with rain water and couldn’t find a place to lie down properly. The owner was getting the dogs some igloo-style houses, and the animal control officer will check in a couple of days to see if they improve the dogs ’ shelter. • 1: 37 p. m. A purse was stolen out of a car on Timbercrest Place. • 2: 25 p. m. A mostly black snake was in a tree in a yard at Barra Place. • 3: 17 p. m. Anthony Francis, 37, at Tamworth Circle, was arrested on a two felony warrants: one from Newton County Sheriff’s Office and one from the Wass County Sheriff’s Office. He also had two misdemeanor warrants: one from the Fayetteville Police Department and one from the Springdale Police Department. • 4: 48 p. m. Someone reported a loud bang and a large white cloud, which dissipated quick ly, behind a house on Dogwood Drive. The police could not smell any smoke or find any sign of fire. • 5: 45 p. m. Two purses were reported stolen out of a car at Dollar General. • 7: 42 p. m. There was a tree down on Hawick Lane. Carroll Electric was getting the power back up and would remove the tree from the road. 7: 58 p. m. A man on Pawle Circle said a woman had been beating on his door for an hour. He had told her earlier he didn’t want her there. • 9: 50 p. m. There was a tree down on Thackery Lane. Thursday, Sept. 4 • 1: 54 a. m. Brent Brown, 35, was given a citation for failure to register his vehicle, fic titious tags and no proof of insurance at the convenience store on Dartmoor. • 8: 17 a. m. A stray Labrador mix dog was removed from Brett Lane and taken to the Bella Vista Animal Shelter. • 9: 19 a. m. A boat was broken into on Muker Lane. • 9: 24 a. m. An alarm sounded on the sunroom door of a resi dence on Ridgewell Lane. • 9: 28 a. m. Eric Gubert, 32, surrendered at the police station and was booked on a failure to appear warrant. • 12: 21 p. m. A Tamworth Circle resident reported his ex-girlfriend used his social security number to get a phone in her name, and then charged over $ 800. • 12: 38 p. m. A stolen wallet was reported at the station. • 3: 39 p. m. A baby raccoon was in the bushes in front of the Highland Crossing center, appeared sick. • 4: 15 p. m. Clifford Lane resident requested an officer to check her garage - it appeared someone bumped it with their car, the officer pulled it out a little bit. • 4: 24 p. m. Hillary Johnson, 19, was cited for obstruction, careless driving and driving without a license. • 6: 51 p. m. The burglar alarm sounded on the Signature Bank ATM, officer reported everything was all right. Friday, Sept. 5 • 1: 03 a. m. A caller on Witham Lane reported a bobcat or a mountain lion under a tree. • 7: 41 a. m. There was an accident at U. S. Highway 71 and Sonic. A person was taken to Northwest Medical Center in Bentonville. Dana Rutledge, 44, was cited for following too close. • 11: 13 a. m. A young raccoon was sitting under an air conditioning unit on Highlands Cross Drive. • 11: 17 a. m. A snake was reported on in a crawl space on Greta Lane. • 11: 35 a. m. Someone pulled into a yard on Little Drive and created ruts in the grass. • 12: 39 p. m. Kevin Estes, 40, turned himself it at the Police Department on a misdemeanor Bella Vista warrant. • 3: 02 p. m. A gas tank and fuel line were stolen off a boat on Lake Windsor. • 4: 58 p. m. A vacant house on Haverigg Lane was vandalized. • 5: 20 p. m. A caller reported a possible drunk driver was all over U. S. 71 near Sugar Creek Center and was throwing beer bottles out a window. • 8: 35 p. m. A caller on Brecknock Drive reported a man, who was taking care of his father, may have been taking an unknown substance because he was acting very strange and citing conspiracy theories. The father hasn’t been seen for several days, so the caller wanted a police officer to check on him. The officer reported the father was in his chair watching television and was fine. Saturday, Sept. 6 • 12: 09 a. m. Four wheelers were running around the Traquir Lane area. • 8: 18 a. m. A woman’s dog attacked an opossum in her backyard on Katt Lane. The opossum was injured but not dead, and it was taken care of. • 9: 00 a. m. Nash Holiday, 25, was cited for not having a dog license on Ashfield. • 10: 59 a. m. James Fresura, 21, was arrested by the Bentonville Police on three warrants. • 1: 09 p. m. People visiting a woman on Alex Lane may have stolen some items and cash. • 4: 46 p. m. A caller reported three children on Cummings Lane were left alone, and the 3-year-old was almost hit by a car. They were also playing in raw sewage in the backyard. • 7: 01 p. m. Two teenage boys were damaging the second green on the Metfield Golf Course. An officer reported the green was damaged and the juveniles were heading home. • 7: 07 p. m. A woman on Ramsey Drive said she was tailgated by her neighbor. The neighbor claimed the caller cut him off. Sunday, Sept. 7 • 8: 16 a. m. A caller on Leighton Lane reported a dog had torn up her dogs ’ beds and is destroying a rug. An officer said he would meet the caller at the Bella Visa Animal Shelter. • 9: 12 p. m. A caller on Shepton Lane reported a raccoon in his backyard may have been hit by a car and was still alive. The caller’s dog keeps getting into fights with the raccoon.
