Intelligent investing The public is invited to a financial seminar hosted by securities consultant Patrice Stewart, where she will discuss how to make wise investment decisions. Summer reading program Registration begins May 17 for the children's summer reading program. Kids can pick up their reading logs, a bookmark and a schedule of Saturday events taking place throughout the summer months at the library. Brainteasers People can stretch their minds from 3 p.m. until 4 p.m. Wednesday, May 21, at the library. BVL is offering this program in conjunction with the Schmieding Center. Book club The Friends of the Library Book Club will gather at 9: 30 a.m. Wednesday, May 28, to discuss "A Spot of Bother "by Mark Haddon. The public is invited, and no registration is needed.

Bedtime Stories for Moms This book discussion group for young mothers will have its next meeting Saturday, May 31, starting at 10 a.m. in the library. The book selection is "I Was a Really Good Mom Before I Had Kids: Reinventing Modern Motherhood "by Trish Ashworth and Amy Nobile.

All fans of fantasy, alternative history and classic sci-fi are invited to attend the first meeting Wednesday, June 4, from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. in the library. Members will decide dates and times for future meetings and the goal of the club. Floral arrangement May's arrangement was designed by Charlotte Papp. Each month, a member of the Bella Vista Garden Club creates an original floral design to be displayed for patrons'enjoyment. Holiday closing The library will be closed Monday, May 26, for Memorial Day. Hours of operation Regular hours are from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday, with extended hours on Wednesday until 8 p.m.
