Blood needed during this Thanksgiving
Posted on Wednesday, November 26, 2008
SPRINGDALE — Thanksgiving is a time to reflect on the good things in life. It’s also a time to think about the good things people are able to do for others.
During the holidays, blood donation levels typically decrease as people become busy planning activities with family and friends. Yet the need for blood never stops. It takes around 300 donations each day to meet patient needs at 37 area hospitals.
On Friday, Nov. 28, Community Blood Center of the Ozarks will hold the Thanks-for-Giving Blood Drive at both CBCO donor centers in northwest Arkansas.
The Springdale Donor Center, 3503 S. Thompson, will be open from 8 a. m. until 2 p. m.
The other center, located at 1400 S. E. Walton Blvd. in Bentonville, will be taking donations from 11 a. m. to 6 p. m.
All participants in the Thanks-for-Giving Blood Drive will receive a collectible T-shirt with a holiday theme.
Curt’s Place in Springdale and Whole Hog Cafe in Bentonville will provide free food for donors, while supplies last.
