Click It or Ticket results released

Bella Vista police officers put in 100 hours of overtime as part of the recent Click It or Ticket campaign, which urges people to buckle up, according to Lt. Tim Cook.

During the campaign, which began May 19 and ended June 1, officers dedicated 150 hours to finding people who were driving while intoxicated and 250 hours to finding people who were not wearing seat belts.

As a result, Bella Vista police Apprehended 12 people on outstanding warrants Arrested six people for driving while intoxicated Gave 46 tickets for people not wearing their seat belts Issued 39 speeding tickets Gave four tickets for reckless driving.

• Gave four people tickets for driving with suspended driver's licenses Wrote 36 tickets for other offenses; and Gave tickets to nine people for having no proof of insurance.

This was the first year the Police Department worked solo on Click It or Ticket. In past years, local officers worked the campaign as part of the Benton County Sheriff's Office.
