Colcord, Okla.

Karen Earlene Londagin, 59, of Colcord, Okla., died Monday, May 12, 2008, at her home. She was born Sept. 23, 1948, in Siloam Springs, Ark., to Earl Shackelford and Edna Bishop Shackelford. She graduated from Colcord High School in 1966 and attended Tulsa Business School in Tulsa, Okla. She married Jerry Londagin on Jan. 15, 1971. She worked as a keypunch operator for Brand Rex in Siloam Springs, Ark. She was a member of the Young Homemakers of Colcord and attended Union Church near Colcord. Survivors include her husband, Jerry Londagin; a son, Mike Londagin of Colcord; a daughter, Melissa Phillips of Colcord; a sister and brotherin-law, Sharon Crites and Bill Crites of Colcord; her motherin-law, Helen Londagin of Colcord; an aunt, Mary Fields of Siloam Springs, Ark.; and three grandchildren, Blake Phillips, Blaine Phillips and Bailey Phillips, all of Colcord. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 15, at Wasson Funeral Home of Siloam Springs, Ark. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, May 16, at the Wasson Memorial Chapel. Rogers

Lona Goff, 57, of Rogers, Ark., died Tuesday, May 13, 2008. She was born Oct. 23, 1941. Arrangements are pending with Sisco Funeral Home of Pea Ridge, Ark.

Bella Vista

James F. Gore, 86, passed away early on the morning of May 13, 2008. He was strong in death just as he was in life. He was the eldest son of Fletcher and Grace Gore and was born in Kentucky on August 20, 1921. He was raised in Albany, New York, where the family moved during the Depression. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Joe; and sister, Annette.

He was a World War II veteran and served in the Pacific Campaign, as well as the European Theatre. He was a Staff Sergeant in the United States Army and commanded an armored reconnaissance vehicle. His unit, the 18 th Cavalry Reconnaissance, 14 th Cavalry Group held strong at the Battle of the Bulge and they were surrounded by German forces. They destroyed their equipment and avoided the enemy. He was captured, spent time in POW camps, escaped from a POW train, was recaptured and was badly injured by an allied aircraft attack on a POW train. He was repatriated from the German hospital in Limburg, Germany, by the first group of troops over the bridge following the battle for the Bridge at Remagen and spent years recovering from his war wounds. James was awarded the Purple Heart along with various other commendations. After serving in the Pacific Campaign, James met his bride to be, Cora, in Medford, Oregon, while he was still in the service. They were married prior to him being shipped to the European Theatre. After the war, Cora was very instrumental in James' full recovery from his injuries.

He graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute of Troy, New York, and was a professional engineer, land surveyor, graduate architect and realtor. For thirty years he was the Senior V. P. of Planning and Engineering for Cooper Communities Inc. and was the principal designer of Bella Vista Village, Cherokee Village and Hot Springs Village in Arkansas, and Tellico Village in Tennessee. The final achievement of his career was to be the initial developer of Woods Creek in Bentonville, Arkansas.

He and his wife, Cora, were members of St. Theodore's Episcopal Church in Bella Vista, Arkansas, and had enjoyed living at Concordia of Bella Vista for a number of years. He was an active member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Cora I. Gore; twin sons and their wives, James W. Gore and wife Sandra of Bentonville, John F. Gore and wife Connie of Bentonville; and daughter, Annette I. Gore of Bella Vista, Arkansas; seven grandchildren, Mindy Ellington of Bella Vista, AR, John F. Gore of Springfield, MO, Keri Johnson of St. Louis, MO, Steven Cauthren of Bentonville, AR, Tiffany Chambliss of Cave Springs, AR, Brandon Gore of Phoenix, AZ, Lindsay LaCaze of Pea Ridge, AR; and sixteen great-grandchildren, Lance Ellington, Jackson Ellington, Katelyn Ellington, Graelen James Gore, Isaiah Johnson, Leah Johnson, Elijah Johnson, Josiah Cauthren, Lilly Cauthren, Evan Cauthren, Kelsey Chambliss, Hannah Chambliss, Bannon Chambliss, Zoe Anne LaCaze, Andie Kate LaCaze and Asa James LaCaze.

Memorial Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 17, 2008, at St. Theodore's Episcopal Church in Bella Vista, Arkansas, with the Rev. Ken Parks officiating. Internment will be in the St. Theodore's Columbarium.

Full military honors will follow the service.
