ROGERS - Malco Theatres will open its second location in the city in conjunction with grand-opening events for the Pinnacle Hills Promenade, the 980, 000-square-foot lifestyle center that holds the 12-screen venue.
The theater, dubbed the Pinnacle Hills 12, will host special screenings of summer blockbusters Wednesday and Thursday to raise money for Arkansas Children's Hospital.
At the event, movie tickets will be $ 1, and popcorn and soft drinks will cost 50 cents, with proceeds going to the hospital. Showtimes will start at 7 p.m.

Larry Etter, vice president of theater services for Malco, said the 43, 000-square-foot theater is designed so that four additional screens can be added in a second phase of building. Up to 300 viewers can sit in each of the theater's two largest auditoriums.
The luxury theater features stadium seating and technology, such as THX sound and Dolby Digital screens. The lobby of the theater is modeled after Malco's flagship Memphis, Tenn., location. The lobby has an arcade with three Internet stations, a fountain, skylights and a cafe with a fireplace and plasma-screen televisions.
Malco operates the 12-screen Towne Cinema at the Scottsdale Center and is constructing an additional location in Fayetteville.
Normal pricing and a schedule of first-run films will begin at the theater Friday.
