Looking to get their message out : A Bella Vista candidate forum is tonight at Riordan Hall.

BELLA VISTA Voters here will have the opportunity to meet, talk to and hear from candidates vying for four of six City Council seats.
The Weekly Vista will host a candidate forum tonight at Riordan Hall.
The event will begin at 5: 30 with a meet-and-greet time All the candidates, including two who are running for re election in uncontested races have been invited.
Then, at 6: 30, the candidates will be seated on stage accord ing to the positions they are seeking.
They will each be given two minutes to say anything about themselves or their campaigns.
Four seats are contested and two of the races do not involve incumbents. The positions and the candidates are as follows:
Ward 1 Position 1: Doug Farner (incumbent ), Julie Hull and David J. Modrak.
Ward 1 Position 2: Ron Krolikowski and Patty Jean Cox.
Ward 2 Position 2: Larry Wilms, Richard Dick Rooney, Ricky Neal and Chad Dilday.
Ward 3 Position 2: Arline Hutchinson (incumbent ), Jim Parsons and Gerald L. Yocum.
Position 1 in wards 2 and 3 are uncontested races and will be filled by incumbents George Holmes and Earl D. Berdine.
The newspaper staff has created and provided to the candidates a list of 12 questions. The moderator, staff writer Andra Atteberry, will ask one of those questions, taken at random, to one of the four groups at the dais. A second question will be asked of the next group, and so on.
The moderator will present each group with two questions. Each candidate will be allowed two minutes in which to respond.
Afterward, the audience will be allowed to ask additional questions. Audience members will be given a maximum of 60 seconds to form and pose their queries, and questions can be directed to any individual candidate or group of candidates. The person or people selected will then have 90 seconds to present an answer.
Only one question per audience member will be allowed. However, if a question is asked and answered and no others are presented, that person may continue with an additional query or follow-up.
The event is planned to end at 8 p. m.
During the social hour from 5: 30 p. m. to 6: 30 p. m., coffee and snacks will be provided.
Bella Vista Community Television Channel 16 has been invited to tape the forum for future broadcast.
