Foundation plans annual benefit gala

ROGERS — Following the Run for a Child event Labor Day, sponsored by the Anderson Children’s Foundation, is the organization’s second annual benefit gala — the Rock Band Gala.
In partnership with Rock Band and EA Sports and MTV, the gala will feature a live performance by the musical group Soul Asylum. Dinner, live and silent auctions are also part of the evening. The nonprofit Anderson Children’s Foundation raises funds for emergency shelters that care for abused and neglected children, as well as prevention programs that are intended to reduce the incidence of child neglect.
Proceeds from the dinner and auction will benefit the Northwest Arkansas Children’s Shelter, where more than 400 abused and neglected children are helped each year. Tickets are still available. General admission (open seating ) is $ 75 and includes dinner, live and silent auctions and the concert. Corporate / VIP reserved tables for 10 are available for $ 1, 000 and also include dinner, both auctions and the concert.
Some of the live auction items include one full-page advertising spread in Celebrate magazine. Two amateur player spots in the 2009 LPGA Pro-Am Golf Tournament will be auctioned off as well a corporate lunch for 100 at the Outback Steakhouse in Rogers. Several other live auction items are included with some great silent auction items, too. Some of the silent auction items are a GE wine fridge stocked with wine; a Corona Limited Edition custom Takamine guitar signed by Kenny Chesney; various autographed sports memorabilia; and more.
