BARTLESVILLE, Okla. - The Rogers Heritage Lady War Eagles picked up their second win of the season Tuesday against the Tulsabased Northeastern Oklahoma Association of Homeschools (NOAH) 54-37 at the Bartlesville (Okla.) Invitational.

Hannah Hickman and Maddie Weller each scored 15 points to lead Heritage (2-7), which won for the first time since beating Alma 33-30 on Dec. 2 at War Eagle Arena.

The Lady War Eagles have had a couple of close losses since then but coach Kevin Ramey said the team was happy to get back in the win column Tuesday.

"We've felt like in other games we've played really well," Ramey said. "We just came up on the short end of the stick. To finally clear that hurdle and win another one, we're certainly very pleased and real proud of our kids."

The Lady War Eagles jumped out to an early 15-7 lead after the first quarter and led 26-18 at halftime. Heritage enjoyed an 11-point advantage going into the final period.

"We talked about getting out to a fast start and getting after them defensively and trying to create turnovers and getting points off our defense," Ramey said. "We really had good energy to us to start the game and got ahead of them.

"It enabled us to relax and we were able to execute and concentrate on our stuff. We weren't playing under the gun all night. It took some pressure off us."

Autumn Rogers added 10 points for Heritage, which will play today at 11:30 a.m. against either Tulsa Will Rogers or Skiatook, Okla.

"Our execution's getting better. Our understanding of what we're trying to do has really improved," Ramey said. "As we've kept playing we've continued to grow and get better. We're really pleased with how we performed today and looking forward to continued success. We've got a little momentum. We want to keep it going."
